Beautiful Mistake

Chapter 20

It was back to school and already I wished we could just graduate. People were staring and pointing at Haley, whispering about her. She seemed like she didn't care, she just kept smiling and walking toward her class.

Classes were boring and it was starting to get hot out. That of course meant all the sluts in the school could come to school half dressed. At least 15 girls have to be sent home everyday. I shook my head as I saw yet another girl being sent home. I headed towards the cafe to find the gang already there.

"Hey guys." I said, waving to everyone.

They all waved back.

"So I was thinking of having your baby shower this week."

"That sounds great! What will I be bringing?" Kayla asked, sitting down on Harry's lap.

"I already told you, Mac and Cheese." I said, rolling my eyes at the fact that she forgot for the 3rd time.

"Harry can you please remind her."

Harry laughed, squeezing her sides to make her squeal, "Sure can, love."

I nodded, "I'll bring cookie brownies."

"What the hell are cookie brownies?" Destery asked, giving me a weird look.

"Cookies that are shaped like brownies. You should come and help me make them." I said, leaning over to leave a kiss on his cheek.

"I'm not much of a baker but I'm sure it will be fun, so sure."

I smiled, pleased that he will be helping me.

"Bay have you even told your mom about Destery." Nathan asked.

I turned to him, and shook my head, my cheeks burning a little.

"I sorta don't want her to know. Nothing against you Des!" I said, squeezing his shoulder, "I just want to able to sleep over with out being questioned and stuff."

Destery nodded and smiled, "Don't even worry about it babe, I understand."

The bell rang and we all headed for our last class of the day.

"Mum I'm home!" I yelled, setting my bag on the floor and rummaging through the fridge for food.

"In the living room!"

I walked down the hall to find my mum and Jake snuggling on the couch. I was glad she finally moved on and found someone to take care of her. I liked Jake, he was nice and made my mum happy.

"Hi Jake." I said, sitting down across from them.

"Hello." He smiled.

They seemed really happy, more happy than usual. It was strange, like they were hiding something from me.

"What's going on?" I asked, leaning forward, waiting for them to spill any secret they had.

"Do you want to or should I?" Mum said, looking at him and smiling wide.

"Well," he started, "you know me and your mother have been together for a while now."

I nodded, waiting for him to finish.

"Well.."

"Jake asked me to marry him!" My mum squealed, flinging out her hand to show me the ring.

I squealed along with her, jumping up and hugging her.

"Mum that's great! I'm so happy for you two!"

My mum looked at me, a single tear rolling down her face, I wiped it away.

"Bay I have some more news."

I nodded, smiling.

"You're also going to have either a baby brother or sister!"

I've always been the only child, so being told this I screamed. Mum and Jake covered their ears.

"Are you happy or..?" Jake joked, lightly laughing.

I laughed too, nodding. The rest of the night we celebrated, mum ordered Chinese, and Jake ordered a movie. We all sat on the couch, Chinese food scattered the coffee table.

After the movie we all headed to bed. I laid in my bed, a smile plastered in my face. I couldn't believe it, mum was finally happy again. Better yet I was getting a sibling. I quickly texting Haley and Kayla, telling them the news. My mum was like a second mother to them, and I bet if I was with them both they would be squealing. I smiled at their messages, my eye lids getting heavy. I plugged my phone in and drifted off to sleep.
