Beautiful Mistake

Chapter 29

I could barely sit still during the movie due to being excited that Steven was finally going to be here.

"Can you please sit still?" Destery asked, clearly annoyed.

"Sorry I'm just so anxious." I said.

I haven't seen him in months and when we finally reunite I can't seem to sit still in his arms. I tried focussing on the movie, phone in hand. I was checking it every five seconds, even though I knew it would be a while.

"Bay breath, they will call when he's born. Don't worry about it. Just relax and let's snuggle." Destery said, taking my phone out of my hands and wrapping his arm's tighter around me.

"You're right, I'm sorry. This is just so exciting!!" I said, trying to contain myself.

He just rolled his eyes and kissed me softly.

"You have no idea how much I've missed you." He whispered, kissing me again.

I kissed him back, tasting his lips once again, a shiver going down my spine.

"Mmm, I've missed you so much as well. Those videos helped." I said, playing with his soft hair.

He chuckled, "I know, me and Nate are such idiots."

"No you're not! You're hilarious! You should see the views you guys have, pretty sure you guys have a fan base."

"Really?? Huh, maybe it will become a thing."

I smiled, "That would be amazing Destery! Yes you should keep doing what you're doing. You could change people's lives."

"You think so?"

I looked into his eyes and smiled, "You changed mine, Des. Just think of all the other people out there."

He smiled, blushing a little. I kissed his blushed cheeks, then his lips. Just as the kiss got deeper my phone began to ring. I jumped out of his arms and snatched it up.

"Hello?!" I said.

Nathan POV.

Everything happened in a blur. Nurses flooding the room, beeping noises, Haley's cries of pain. I almost started crying for the fact that I did this to her. I let her squeeze my hand as tightly as she wanted to, not even wincing at the shooting pain going through my hand as she squeezed hard, for I deserved it.

"I'm so sorry for doing this to you, baby." I remember whispering to her.

I remember her giving me a weak smile and giving me the thumbs up. The doctor then came in and told us it was time to push. I remember almost fainting, for Haley was now screaming in pain. I remember the doctor saying he was almost here. Everything happened so fast, I was so stunned. Now I'm standing here, my wife sleeping in her hospital bed, me holding my new born child. 4 pounds, 5 ounces, 13 inches long. He was a small baby. The doctor said he needed to stay here for a while to run some tests, but he was a very healthy little boy.

"You did such a good job sweetheart." I whispered to Haley, kissing her forehead.

I settled Steven back down in his incubator, and stepped outside to call Bay to tell her the news.

"Hello?!"

"You haven't been able to sit down and enjoy your reunion with Destery have you??" I asked, chuckling at the excitement in her voice.

"Nope! So what's going on?! Can we come see you guys yet?!"

"Haley is sleeping right now, but you guys can come up if you want. You won't be able to hold Steven until we bring him home though."
