Beautiful Mistake

Chapter 24

I woke up to Haley shaking my arm,

"WAKE UP SLEEPY HEAD! THE BABY SHOWER IS TODAY!" She yelled in my ear excitedly.

I sat up and rubbed my eyes, I totally forgot that the baby shower was today.

"Alright, alright I'm up." I said, stretching.

Haley happily skipped out of the room, closing the door behind her. I looked over to Destery, snoring away. I leaned over and littered his face with kisses until he began to stir. He rolled over, taking me down.

"I don't want to get up yet! Can't we just cuddle for a little while?" Destery groaned, tightening his grip around me.

I giggled, "No Des, we need to get up." I said, wiggling out if his grip. "I need a shower before everyone gets here."

I strolled over to the bathroom, only to find Destery wrapping his arms around me and closing the door.

Haley's POV.

I put on a cute dress that I had bought at the paternity store. I checked myself out in the mirror, turning left and right. I sighed. I was getting bigger everyday. I sat down on my chair and started to put my makeup on. Nathan walked in and planted a kiss on my cheek.

"You ready? People are starting to show up."

I gulped, starting to get nervous. I've never met Nathan's side of the family, and the only people on my side was my mum and my dad. He helped me up with a little difficulty and laced his fingers with mine, kissing the back of my hand.

"Don't worry baby, don't be nervous. They'll love you, just like I do." He said, smiling.

I smiled back and kissed his sweet lips, feeling the coolness of the two studs at each side of his mouth. I smiled at him and followed him down the hall, hand and hand.

Bay's POV.

There was a lot of people at the house, and most of them was Nathan's family. All of his cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents, and of course his mum and dad. There was at least 25 people here, so we had to move the shower to the back yard. Good thing it was nice out, and good thing we did a pot luck. There was so much food and so many presents. Once everyone ate, it was time for Nathan and Haley open their presents.

"This is going to take a while." I whispered to Destery as they began.

By 7:30 everyone started to leave. Haley and Nate got a lot of cute things and enough diapers to last them about two or three months.

"It was so great finally meet you!" I heard Nate's mom gushing, hugging Haley.

I was glad to see they got along, as Nathan's mum wasn't the easiest to get along with, which is the reason why Nathan moved out and got his own place. With the help of his dad of course. We waved good bye to all of them and headed straight for bed. It was so hectic today I could barely keep my eyes open. I flopped down next to Destery who was already asleep. I pulled the covers over myself and snuggled in close to Destery, drifting off into a deep sleep.

Tonight it was just me and Kayla. Harry and Destery left for some guy time so me and Kayla were on for some girl time.

"So how is Harry doing with his signing?" I asked Kayla as she painted my toes.

Harry was an amazing singer. When we were younger we used to put on concerts for our parents and sing for them. Harry was always better of course.

"Great. I want him to try out for the X-Factor. He would win for sure."

"Do you think he would want to? I don't think he could leave you behind."

Kayla shrugged, "I support him. I'd tag along if he wanted me to."

I smiled, they were so cute together. They were going to get married one day, there is no doubt about it.

"So does mommy know about you and Destery?" She asked, finishing off my last toe.

"No, and I don't want her knowing. I want to be able to sleep over his house without being questioned or told no."

"I see I see, makes sense."

I nodded, grabbing the green nail polish and starting on her toe nails.

"So we have to plan Haley's wedding."

I shook my head, "They're eloping, then later on down the road they will have a real wedding."

Kayla crossed her arms and pouted like a five year old, "No they should have a real wedding."

"Kayla they can't, they don't have time or money for a real wedding. They will have one later on when they can afford one." I rolled my eyes, she could be such a brat at times.

She huffed, "Do you have any food? I haven't eaten for like, five minutes."

I laughed, "Yea, let me just finish this last toe."

She groaned like a dying whale, which made me laugh even more.

After our toes dried, we got food and sat on the couch to watch 21 Jump Street. Reciting every word and laughing our asses off. Mum came home from Jakes house, giving us a questionable look.

"What are you guess on meth or something?" She asked joking around.

Hearing that come out of my mum's mouth made us laugh even harder. She joined us as we began watching Finding Nemo.

"You girls having a good night? Where's Harry?"

"With Destery. They're having a guys night."

"Who's Destery?"

I began to panic. Kayla was known for speaking things that weren't meant to be spoken about by accident. I looked at her, hoping she was reading my mind.

"One of Harry's friend. We don't know him." Kayla answered.

I let out the breath I was holding, turning my attention back to the talking fish. I was glad my mum wasn't so nosey like other people's mums. I have no idea what she would do if she found out about me and Destery. I've never had a boyfriend, and she was glad about that. But what now? I have one, and I don't think she really wants me dating until I'm graduated. I think it has to do with the fact that her and my father were high school sweethearts and she wants me focused on school. I don't know, parents are weird.

It got late and we all headed for bed. I lied awake, wondering what Destery was thinking about. I haven't gotten a text from him all day, but I didn't worry about it. He was out with Harry and Harry isn't a partier. I tried sleeping but it was no use. I grabbed my iPhone and sent Destery a text.

*To: Destery- Just wanted to say good night and I hope you're having fun ^-^ I love you xx*

I waited for his text back, and it felt like hours before he replied.

*From: Destery- Good night baby, sleep well, ill see you tomorrow xx*

I smiled, he was alright. I plugged my phone in on the charger and closed my eyes. Slowly but surely falling fast asleep.
