Bay's POV.

I wiggled my toes in the soupy water, my feet tingling as it vibrated, massaging my feet.

"So are you excited for tonight?" Haley asked, looking at me with excitement in her eyes and a little bit of hope.

"Yea, I guess I'm excited. I mean it's like any other night we've been out together."

"Yea but Nathan is bring his friend, don't you even wonder what he's like? He might be cute! And..."

I tuned Haley out. She clearly doesn't understand that I'm not looking for any type of relationship right now. All I want to do it focus on school, my mum, and getting the hell out of here.

"Haley," I said, turning to look at her smiling face, "I'm not looking for a relationship. I need to.."

She cut me off, holding up her hand.

"If your mum can find love again, you can find love to."

Her words cut right through me. I opened my mouth to protest but clamped it shut, her words making my head spin. She was right. If my mom could find love again, I could find love to. The thing was, I didn't want to. I had no time for a relationship. Maybe someday, just not right now.

Destery's POV.

I woke up to a not so pretty sight.

"Ah! Dude what the hell?!"

I push Nathan off of my bed onto the floor. He was laughing uncontrollably. I rubbed my eyes, trying to wake my self up. I look at my clock, 11:30. I yawned.

"What time are we meeting the girls again?" I asked sleepily, groaning as I stretched.

"Well now were meeting up with them a little earlier for lunch."

I snapped my eyes wide open.

"What? You’re just getting me up now?!"

I jumped out of my bed, rushing to the bathroom. I quickly turned the shower on and undressed.

"Take your time, Des. Bay told me she'd text me once her and Haley were done getting their nails done."

I washed up quickly, hopping out and wrapping a towel around my waist.

"I still need to get ready, Nathan! I need time!"

I ran my toothbrush under the water, searching for my toothpaste.

Once my teeth were brushed I rushed back to my room. I hadn't unpacked all of my clothes yet, so I dug out a pair of light colored jeans and a grey t-shirt. Grabbing a pair of white socks and my black converse.

After I got dressed I rushed back to the bathroom to style my hair. That would at least take me 20 minuets to do. As I was just finishing off my hair I heard my phone ringing.

As I read the name on the screen, I groaned.

I quickly answered it, but wasn’t to excited to hear her voice.

"Destery! Babe! Are you avoiding me?"

I rolled my eyes. Her voice was sickening.

"Stephanie I don't have time to talk. Stop texting and calling me. We're over. Why can't you get that through your head?"

I heard her laughing on the other end, cringing at the sound of it.

"Oh you silly head, were still together! Listen, my mom said I could come up and see you over April vacation! How does that sound?"

I groaned, why oh why did I get messed up with a girl like her?

"No Stephanie. Not going to happen."

Before she could respond, Nathan was at my door.

"Dude lets go, the girls are waiting at Micky D's. It’s the only restaurant we can afford." He laughed.

I nodded, turning away from him.

"Look Stephanie, I need to go."

"Who is she?! Are you cheating on me? You're not going on a date are you Destery Smith? I...."

I hung the phone up on her.

Nathan shook his head.

"When will that girl learn."

I rolled my eyes. "Can we just go?"

Nathan nodded. As we headed out, Nathan locked the door and jumped in the car.

I rolled my window down, letting the cool breeze hit my face. It felt good on my skin, calming me down.

I put my head buds in to drown out Nathan. I didn't want to hear him ramble on about this girl, Haley that he was mad about. I'm sure she's nice, but I've heard enough.

Belmont wasn't anything like Florida, but I’d rather be here than there. Far away from my foster "parents".

I shook my head. I'm just glad that they allowed me to move out. I couldn't stand it there.

I turned my music up, drowning out my own thoughts. I looked out my window, staring at all the trees and the sky. It was calming. Peaceful. I liked it.
