Beautiful Mistake

Chapter 18

Today was a girls day. I went home the next day, Haley in tow. We planned on getting our nails done, and go out for lunch and a movie. We dragged mum along because she needed to get out of the house. As we sat there getting our toes done, I saw mum smile for the first time. Haley filled her in on her pregnancy.

"Well Haley, I can't say I'm happy to hear about this, but if you need any help I'm here. I'll support your decision." She said, smiling faintly.

"Thanks mum." Haley said, taking her hand and squeezing it.

I just sat there, watching and listening. I was still upset about yesterday. I believed Destery, I know he would never hurt me, but seeing that girl kissing him still brought tears to my eyes.

"Bay are you alright?" My mum asked, looking at me with concern.

I nodded and smiled, quickly blinking back the tears. I wasn't going to ruin my day because of some slut. After the nail treatment we headed out for lunch. We went to this cute little restaurant that had a bar on one side and the other side filled with tables. We walked in and I stopped dead in my tracks, spotting a blonde rats nest sitting at the bar, trying to flirt with some guy. My hurt turned into anger.

"Bay? Where are you going?" Haley called after me.

I walked swiftly towards Stephanie, grabbing her shoulder and whipping her around.

"What the hell?" She said, until she realized who I was, "Oh, hello Bay." She smiled a wicked smile.

"Stay away from me and Destery. Do you hear me?" I was so mad I was shaking.

She laughed, "Oh, so cute, but back off kid, he'll come crawling back to me in no time." She flipped her hair, still smiling.

I didn't know why I did it, but I slapped her, I slapped her hard right around her face.

"You little bitch!" She stretched, jumping out of her seat and tackling me to the ground.

I'm not much of a fighter, but before I knew it I was on top or her, pinning her to the ground. She tried to grab my hair but I grabbed her arms and twisted them. She yelped in pain, I leaned in to her ear and whispered, "Stay the fuck away from me and my boyfriend. Understand now?!"

She nodded, tears rolling down her face. I was lifted up by the security, and we were thrown out of the restaurant. I looked at my mom, and saw the horror in her eyes. I felt guilty that she had to see that, but Haley was excited.

"Oh my gosh Bay! That was awesome! You sure showed her!"

She wrapped me in a hug and I laughed a little.

"Sorry that you had to see that mum." I said, looking down and fiddling with my hands.

"Who was that girl, and why do you hate her so much?"

I didn't want to tell her about Destery. Not yet. I was afraid if I told her, then I wouldn't be able to sleep over Nathan's house again. So I told her a lie.

"She was making fun of Haley for being pregnant at 17, and let me tell you she was being wicked mean."

Thankfully Haley went along with it, "Yea, I would of beat her, but I can't." She laughed a little, pointing to her baby bump.

All mom did was nod, "Okay well we should just go to the movies and get something to eat there."

Haley and I both agreed and we drove to the movies.
