I sat at my computer desk, scrolling through tumblr.com. I heard a soft knock on the door.

"Come in."

My door slowly opened, my moms pretty head poking in. She was so beautiful. So stunning. Silky brown hair that laid just above her hips, with beautiful, natural waves. She has big brown eyes, pink lips, and with it a bright beautiful smile. I couldn't believe that she was still single. But yet, yes I could. She was still in love with my father.

I shut my laptop and turned towards her.

"What's up?"

She sat on my bed, crossing her legs.

"Just wanted to know what your plans were for this weekend."

"Well tomorrow Haley and I are going to get our nails done, and then we’re going to the movies with Nathan and his friend."

My mom nodded. Why was she acting so strange? Something about her wasn't right. She seemed... Nervous? Scared?

She took a deep breath before speaking.

"I just wanted you to know... I might not be home when you get home."

She shifted on my bed, looking uneasy. I raised my eyebrows.

"Um... okay. How come?"

She pressed her lips together, looking like she didn't want to tell me. Like it was some secret that she wasn't meant to speak of.

There was an awkward silence before she finally spoke.

"I… Uh... I-I'm going out.."

I was so confused at this point. She was going out? Going out where? And with who? Her friends? Why was that such a big secret?

She must of caught on my confusion, and looked away as she spoke again.

"He's an old friend of mine… and we're catching up over dinner and a few drinks."

I got up from my seat, strolling over to the bed, and sat next to her. I took her hand into mine. She slowly turned to look at me.

"Mom it's okay. Dad would of wanted you to move on. He wants you to be happy. And so do I. Don't feel ashamed, I bet he's a great guy." I smiled as I encouraged her. She smiled weakly back at me. She was afraid of hurting my fathers feelings, even though he was no longer with us. It's true though, he would want her to be happy and move on when she was ready.

She gave me a kiss on the cheek and hugged me tightly.

"I love you, Bay."

I hugged her back tightly, breathing in the scent of her perfume she always wore.

"I love you too, Mum."

"But dude, maybe I didn't want to go out. I just moved here and I have to unpack all my crap, then..." I trailed off. Nathan clearly was not listening to me. Typical.

"Nathan!" I yelled, knocking the controller out of his hands. I was angry.

"Whoa, Des chill. You'll have fun. We're going to see a horror movie."

I shook my head, he clearly hasn't listen to a word I've been saying.

"I need to settle in and finish unpacking before I do anything fun."

I walked towards my room, not wanting to listen to Nathan anymore. I wasn't going anywhere until I was settled in. I had a lot of unpacking to do.

"Aren't you going to come and help me?!" I yelled down the hallway, only to hear him laughing in reply.

I sighed, and started to unpack my clothes. As I started to put my clothes in the closet, I heard my phone buzz. I checked to see who it was from. My mood was going from bad to worse as I read the name.

From: Stephanie

*Missing you already babe! Xx *

I threw my phone on the bed, not replying. I walked down the hall to the living room where Nathan sat on the couch, playing Zelda.

"Okay dude you win. What time are we meeting them tomorrow?"

Nathan looked at me and grinned.

"Stephanie?"

I took in a deep breath and nodded.

Nathan shook his head

"When is she ever gonna learn that you two aren't together anymore?"

"When she figures out what two plus two equals."

Nathan burst out laughing. It was so true. Stephanie was the dumbest girl known to man kind. If I had known that, I wouldn't have dated her. She’s overly clingy also. So not attractive.

"We'll be meeting the girls at 7."

I turned to look at Nathan. Girls? "I thought we were hanging out with guys, not girls?"

"I told you, I'm a ladies man!"

I rolled my eyes, "Yea Nate, you keep telling yourself that."

After saying good night to Nate, I walked back to my room. Shoving the boxes that I've yet to unpack to the side.

I crawled into bed, so tired and jet lagged. Easily falling into a deep sleep.
