Beautiful Mistake

Chapter 28

The month went by fast. I watched Destery's videos everyday, repeatedly. He was so funny, every video made me fall more and more in love with him. Before I knew it graduation was tomorrow. I sat on my bed, Haley by my side.

"Ugh, Steven get out of me!" She complained.

She was due in 3 days, and was so done being pregnant. All she did was complain.

"Oh shut up. You'll get to see his handsome face soon." I said, rubbing her huge stomach.

She sat up, "Watch, he's going to be this tiny ass baby, and he needs all this room because he's going to be just like his father."

I laughed, it was so true. Haley was huge, and by the sounds of it from the doctor, Steven was going to be a tiny baby.

"How funny would it be if you went into labor tomorrow?" I asked, laughing at the thought of it.

"Oh my gosh, don't jinx me, I'd die!"

We sat there laughing, thinking about tomorrow and how funny it would be.

"Okay girls, lights out. Big day tomorrow." My mother mumbled, clearly annoyed.

My happiness quickly faded. It didn't matter how many times I apologized to her, she was still angry. I don't blame her, but she could lighten up. I was graduating tomorrow and the least she could do was be a little excited. Tomorrow was going to be the last time she saw me. Over the past few months has been hell for me. I love my mom, but I can't live like this. Once I'm graduated, I'm moving in to Nathan's house and going to commute from college and back. The hard thing was that we were all moving to Florida. My mother had no clue what my plans were, and I didn't want her to stress anymore than she already is about her new baby on the way, plus her wedding. Haley has hers all planned out for when she and Nathan have a real wedding. They ran off and eloped, the only people there were Destery and Haley's mom. I couldn't go.

Haley climbed into my bed and I slipped onto the cot because I'm a good friend like that.

"Good night babe." Haley whispered.

"Good night babe." I whispered back, falling to sleep.

I woke up to the sound of my alarm going off. I opened my eyes a little bit and then closed them, wanting to go back to sleep. I quickly realized it was graduation day and my eyes snapped open.

"Ugh! Turn that alarm off!" Haley moaned, pulling the covers over her head.

"Nope, it's graduation day! We need to get up and get ready!" I said, gently ripping the covers off of her.

"I don't want to, I don't feel good." She complained.

I rolled my eyes at her, "You're just excited and nervous at the same time. Oh and Steven." I said, giggling.

She sighed and sat up, with my help. Once she sat up her hand went to her mouth and she shoved me to the side, running for the bathroom.

"Morning sickness? You never get morning sickness." I said, walking in and holding her hair back, rubbing her back.

"It's probably because of the nerves and excitement. My boy can't handle all of it." She said, wiping her mouth and reaching for her toothbrush.

We got ready and headed out to get our hair done. I felt calm and relaxed as the woman ran her fingers through my hair. I loved getting my hair done, someone playing with my hair was my favorite thing.

"Bay, I really don't feel good." Haley said, rubbing her stomach.

She really did look like shit, she was pale and lacking her normal bubbly energy. I reached over and grabbed her hand, squeezing it.
