Innocence.. oh dear Innocence.. how i love and hate you.
Oh dear, the innocence a human can carry, can make then like angels on this wicked, cruel. world. but.. it blinds you. It blinds a human from understanding the pain and wickedness that people bring.
And for Hinata, that is his exact case! innocent and unaware of the danger he'll be in. he was never aware of the dangers or the wicked people around him, yes he knew people could be cruel.. but he was unaware of just how bad people could be, he didn't want to believe just how bad people were, he wanted to believe everyone had good in their hearts, regardless of their sins..
The sounds of feet trailing in the snow was rather relaxing to Hinata's ears, he trailed behind Yachi and Kiyoko as they made their way to the festival located in the town, just a little bit away from Kiyoko's house.
He saw how Yachi and Kiyoko's hands were intertwined with one another's hand, it was a way to keep Yachi close to Kiyoko, and show affection without making Yachi to flustered, Hinata couldn't help but wonder what it was like.. what it's like to have your hand held.. Seeing how happy it made Yachi, made Hinata Curious about what it felt like.
his gaze slowly looked down to his own hands, 'Hm.. I wonder..' Hinata thought to himself as he interlocked his own hands, he frowned like a child begging their mom for a toy, when he felt no special way about his hands locking onto each other.
He took his hands apart and brought one of his hands to his forehead to facepalm. 'i'm so dumb.. Of course i wouldn't feel anything! it's my own hand..' Hinata thought to himself with a facepalm and a blush of pure embarrassment
soon he heard the faint giggle from his friend, Yachi. "You okay Shoyo-kun?" Yachi asked looking over her shoulder at Hinata, he dropped his hand from his forehead and smiled sweetly, "Oh, Mhm!" Hinata said happily, putting his hands in his lap.
"Good, we're here." Kiyoko spoke, her voice soft and calming like any other day, her voice had a way of never showing her emotions in it, only her eyes showed her emotions, Hinata excitedly looked up from his lap, his eyes sparkled and his mouth opened in awe..
the town was decorated in beautiful, winter, festival decor, lanterns being sold for later in the night, the town was lit up. people wearing beautiful Kimono's and other unique clothing, stands of bakers and cooks selling delicious smelling foods and pastries, everything was so different.
these festivals were the only times Longstone's beauty was shown, times like these made Hinata stare in complete awe, he walked with Yachi and Kiyoko deeper into the town, his eyes wandering the town, his head spinning in awe as he looked at everything..
He walked quickly behind Yachi and Kiyoko, his eyes glimmering and glittering with excitement and joy, "O-oh my gosh! Yachi! Kiyoko! They have Strawberry pastries!" Hinata exclaimed with excitement, Kiyoko smiled softly.
"They do!?" Yachi asked with excitement, the show were obviously sharing their excited energy for the pastries, Kiyoko smiled softly at their joy. "Mhm! Can we get some?" Hinata asked happily. "I believe we have enough money to get you two a pastry, but we should save most our money for other enjoyment's here" Kiyoko calmly said as she reached into the small pouch like bag she brought.
"Yes!" Hinata exclaimed with anticipation, he was practically buzzing with joy. Yachi was excited but she was able to contain herself better due to not wanting to draw attention to herself. "I'm E-excited!" Yachi chimed in, holding onto Kiyoko's arm happily.
"Well.. Let's go get you two a pastry." Kiyoko said as she began walking to the booth, Yachi followed her with Hinata trailing behind happily. They walked together as a trio through the crowded streets. Children playing with ribbons that had unique patterns on it, laughter, talking. filled their ears, the smell of sizzling foods, spices and sweets, filled their noses with delight and filled their empty stomachs with hunger..
the festival was gorgeous, and the foods were making their stomachs lust for food.. to bad they only have enough money for a little bit of food..
As the trio walked down the streets of the festival, Yachi and Hinata enjoying their small strawberry pastries that Kiyoko blessed them with, as they walked.
Snow continuously fell from the sky, lacing the ground and booths, little children giggling as they bought little paper dolls, or toys from booths, booths of workers making lanterns for people to purchase later in the night.
every festival they let out these beautiful.. beautiful, lanterns into the night sky as a sign of good luck for entering the new year shortly after, they do it during the festival and when new years hits they let these beautiful flowers into the icy waters as a sign of letting their griefs of this year behind.
the festival in this horrible town shouldn't be as beautiful as it is.. Hinata shouldn't enjoy this town as much as he does. but he cant help himself, he feels as if something other than his friends and family is keeping him here.
like.. if something is going to happen.. a good thing from whatever god is out there giving him something that will change his world forever.. But what? What could it possibly be..?
"Hey Yachi, Kiyoko! Look! The lanterns patterns this year is so beautiful!" Hinata said with the joy of a child, but his joy quickly faded into confusion when he turned to see no sight of Kiyoko or Yachi..
"Yachi..? Kiyoko..?" Hinata called out, his eyebrows furrowed when he couldn't see them through the crowd of people, his heart began racing, his gut filled with worry..
He lost Yachi and Kiyoko in the festival crowd.. He's all alone..
