Maybe this would be a mistake.
A mistake that Hinata hopefully could be forgiven from in the end.
Was it truly that wise to go against fate's orders of preventing him from leaving? Was it wise to leave the house unaware of the dangerous possibilities he wasn't even aware of?
No matter what, Hinata was set on going out and feeling the air on his skin this evening! No matter what fate threw at him he was set on smiling through it.
Besides, he had nothing much to be sad about, except his missing kimono and ruined outfit. So why bother wasting his precious tears?
Rummaging through his clothes desperately his mother sighed for the eighteenth time, and Hinata couldn't dare face her and try and awkwardly explain this.
"So, do you mind explaining how this happened?" She questioned and crossed her arms, gesturing towards the torn clothing. Her question was a demand for an answer.
"Well.. Uh, you see.. I'm not sure, it just kind of happened?" Hinata replied in a quiet tone, he was only half lying! Thus it should be fine in the eyes of god, right?
"You don't know?" She asked with raised eyebrows, clearly not believing her son. Her face demanded an answer he would try to give in the best way possible.
"So, I'm not sure how it exactly happened, mother.. I think something happened while i was asleep.." Hinata murmured to his mother, unable to fully make eye-contact with her.
The image alone of her instantly seeing through his lie with a single look just sent shivers up his spine, he knew lying was bad. But I think a lie of not knowing what happened is much better than saying an owl flew into his room and ripped his clothing before flying out and taking nothing with it?
How truly unbelievable is that?
"Are you sure you have no clue who could've done this?" She questioned him sternly, walking forward a couple of steps before softly tugging on her son's chin upwards and looking into his eyes with a hard expression.
"Yes, mother.. I promise.." He mumbled in a quiet tone, his eyes locked onto hers as she searched deep into them. His heart pounded deep into his chest. he wasn't sure how much longer he could make eye-contact before breaking under pressure.
She let out a soft sigh and trailed her hand off his chin onto his shoulder, rubbing it with her thumb. "Very well.. I'll have to look around a bit for some clothing you can wear. But you should be able to wear something. After all, you're just going to the marketplace to pick up an order for me." She noted to him as she took her hand off his shoulder.
Letting out a small breath of relief he smiled small. "Thanks mother, I promise I'll be quick in the market the second i find something to wear." He stated with a promising smile.
"I know.. Now, I'll be back shortly with some clothes for you. In the meantime you should get ready." She replied with a small yet stern smile as she ruffled her son's hair before turning around, her slim back facing him as she walked to his bedroom door and opened it. The old door creaked under the movement before becoming silent when it was closed once more.
With a soft sigh Hinata looked over to the wash room in his bedroom, he then glanced at the torn fabric on the floor and softly bent down. His mind raced with guilt as he softly picked up the pieces of the fabric.
