The door creaked open slowly, glass scattered along the wooden floor boards of the attic as his eyes looked around.

The glass shattered from his previous mirrors, the man sat by the window facing sideways, his brown hair down to his shoulders and slightly messy as he stared along the outside world he rarely saw anymore.

A soft sigh escape his lips as he looked over to the short demon, he frowned small as he looked at him.

"..."

"How are you doing, Asahi?" Nishinoya asked quietly as he stepped into the room, books scattered across the room with pages ripped out, picture frames broken and glass running everywhere along the attic.

"..I'm fine.." Asahi murmured in response, he turned back to the window and watched the breeze sway the growing plants outside.

Nishinoya knew better, he knew for a fact he was anything but okay, though he bit his tongue and remained quiet, who in this manor was okay anymore anyway?

Asahi surely wasn't. The once angel was very important in the celestials, known for his nervous and cowardly demeanor yet his strive to be the rock of those around him.

Only to fall for a human and befriend demons. Thus betraying the oath of the angels and having his wings cleanly ripped from his back, falling from the realms he called his home and landing in the human realm.

unable to land himself in hell itself, he was stuck in the human world forevermore with the curse of immortality and the burden of guilt itself.

And thus he kept a promise to himself, to always protect the human he loved, only to fail his one last promise. His hands clean, but the feeling of blood remained deep within the skin of his body. And the lingering question of, 'Why not me instead?' A question no one answered no matter how much he asked.

He wasn't sure what he was anymore, he was shunned by demons for being an angel and wasn't even close to an angel anymore.. Shunned by them as well. Stuck with the title of a mere fallen angel, without the grace of god or the pain of the devil itself.

being an enigma himself he often remained locked in the attic, weeping tears of guilt as he begged for forgiveness, only to be ignored and shunned in every realm but earth. Thus his nickname amongst the devils and angels. 'The grieving angel'.

For as no matter if he were to rip his eyes out. cut the scars off his back. Nothing could remove the memories of his past, remove the joy he felt in his heart when she was alive, or remove the horrible fears and memories in his mind.

For as even if the eyes that saw such terror are removed from the body, the memories shall remain in the back of your brain to constantly remind of you who you failed to shine pride upon.

That is the devils idea, isn't it? To constantly make you remember the trauma you failed to stop before it continued on, and for the angels to serve as a reminder of what you should do in the future.

"Are you sure?" Nishinoya questioned him, the glass crunched under his feet and shattered into small pieces as he walked over to him, standing by the window. The light of the setting sun casted down amongst the two and casted a shadow over the face of sorrows.

"I'm not sure anything.." Asahi softly whispered, his fingers quaked in tremors as he brought them up, resting them under his chin.

Nishinoya sighed and placed his hand on his shoulder, staring into his dark eyes. "What's wrong? You're not usually this shaky." Nishinoya inquired as he glanced to the window, what could be bothering him?
