Dean's Point of View

Cas stared at the t.v, looking as bored as the person talking about a face.

"You like watching this?" Dean grumbled, sitting on a chair. Cas' dark blue eyes went wide around his thick frames.

"I've been on this same channel forever." Cas exclaimed, "There's no more channels except the ad one." Dean stood up, looking for the remote, Cas gave a sour chuckle. "Can't find it hu-" Dean turned around, with the remote in his hand, he smirked at Cas. Castiel just stared at him with an open mouth, "Where did you find that?"

"Behind the chair." Dean responded, plopping back down on his seat. "What do you want to watch?" He glanced at Cas, who was staring at Dean, his mouth formed in a small smile.

"Anything except this."

Dean scrolled on and on, but kept coming on either the same channel or another ad channel.

"Bullshit." Dean muttered as he kept looking for a channel.

"Do you love Lisa?" Cas said suddenly, Dean looked at him, confused by his surprising question. Dean only knew the girl for a bit, he couldn't love her right away. What sort of question was Cas asking? Maybe Dean wasn't in love, but instead was falling in love.

"I'm falling in love with her, yeah." Dean mumbled, Cas stared at his with an intense gaze.

"How does that feel like?"

Dean didn't feel anything out of the ordinary from other girls.

"Why are you asking?" Dean questioned, Cas sighed heavily.

"Because, I've never been loved by someone special." Cas replied.

"You will soon."

"Ha, you must be joking Dean," Castiel looked back up at him, his glare hardened, "I am not leaving this place, I'm stuck here."Dean frowned, why was Castiel so negative? It made Dean want to drag him out of this hospital.

"Fuck, Cas, you can get out of here."

"If you spend a damn birthday in this fucking gown, your hopes wear off Dean, I can't run from this reality."Dean didn't reply, after a while Cas spoke, "I'm sorry Dean, for being an asshole,"

"No, it's okay Cas, I would be an ass too if I was in here for a long time."

Dean grabbed Cas' new book, and pulled the chair right next to Castiel's bedside, flipping to the first page.

"What are you doing?"

"I'm going to read to you,"

"I can read," Cas chuckled, smiling slightly, as if it hurt him if he smiled any wider.

"Yeah, but, I want to read to you."

Castiel gave Dean a short laugh, nodding. "Alright,"

So Dean read.

He stopped on chapter 10, throat dry and lips parched. Castiel looked attentive, eyes glued on Dean, as if every word Dean uttered, Cas took it and stuck it on his brain.

"It's okay if you're tired Dean, you can go now if you want." Castiel said, but Dean had other plans on his mind.

"Nah, I am tired of talking, but you've been quiet for a long ass time, now it's your turn to speak." Dean told Cas, shutting the book and placing it on the edge of Castiel's bed.

"What do you want me to say?" Cas asked.

"Tell me about yourself. Like what's your favorite color and how old are you."

"Well, my favorite color is green and I'm turning 24." Dean smiled, nodding, telling Cas to go on. Castiel took a while to say anything, like he was choosing his words, Dean didn't really care if Castiel took 30 minutes to say something, he just wanted to be entertained somehow. "My parents left me with my aunt, and never returned, um...I graduated in law school...I've been here more then 3 weeks...I haven't had a girlfriend since college, uh, it was a bust...And I love books?"

"That can't be it!" Dean exclaimed, Dean thought Cas had more things to tell underneath his blue eyes.

"I'm a cat person?"

Dean sighed, shaking his head. "Tell me who you are."

"I'm just Castiel, who's been in a hospital, wasting his fucking days on stupid ass pills day after day, and I yearn for one person-one fucking person-to love me. That's who the hell I am. Happy now?" Cas snarled back.

Dean felt bad, he didn't mean to push Cas across his limits. He just wanted to learn more about him. A thought crosses Dean's mind. Dean didn't want a friend who practically lived in a hospital, since he hated the place so much, but, here he was, bugging someone who just wanted to be alone.

"I have to go." Dean said, standing up, walking away.

"Dean wai-"

"No, Cas, please, I forgot that having a friend who lives in a hospital isn't one that I wanted."

He walked out, leaving the black haired boy by himself.
