Goodbye for a while

Taehyung looked down his palms and felt sweat gathering.He was nervous and his heart was beating loud against his chest.He placed a hand over his chest for confirmation,yes,he was going to die of tachycardia.He blew into the air,there was light rain outside his windows and the wiper was moving back and forth across the windshield.
"Are you okay?",His father asked,from his side and he gave a nervous laughter as reply.
"Yes,I am good"
His father patted on his knees,"You're going to be alright.When Appa had to go,it was nervewracking like this too.I almost asked my mother to take me back home"
His family laughed and Taehyung felt like he needed to smile a little too.But it did nothing to suppress his nerves.And his father was wrong about his feelings.Taehyung wasn't nervous about the military,he had been ready for it since so long.Every south koreans are ready for it since they were born.This fate fell on all of them alike but the reason for his nerves was about his soulmate.

Barely two hours was in his hand to be with Jimin but the latter had chose to come with Jungkook in another car,letting Taehyung have his time with his family.Taehyung didn't understand.Jimin was his family.

The car jerked a little as it passed the checkpost and into the camp.The manager was directing the driver,a spot had been cleared for them to say their goodbyes.Taehyung checked if he could still breath,pulling down his mask a little.He turned around to see the car Jimin was in.It was right behind him.He rubbed his sweat drenched palm into his coat,unrest.

Jimin was busy talking to Hoseok,hugging and commenting about his now buff body when Taehyung came to the boys.Jin was the first one to pull him into a hug,"I can't believe they make 7 year olds go into military",Jin laughed.
"Ah! Hyung!", Taehyung complained as he hugged back.
Jimin made his way through the crowd to Taehyung,"Hey"
"Hey", Taehyung said back,and all he wanted was to pull the elder into a hug and beg again,for him to join along.
He had done that months ago,asking Jimin to try for capital defense but people with tattoos were not allowed.Even if Jimin wanted,he couldn't go.But Taehyung doubts if Jimin would choose him over Jungkook.He knows he shares kisses under moonlight with Jimin,but Jimin had a special place for Jungkook in his heart.

Taehyung realised they were just gazing at each other,had been just standing in each other's proximity.Taehyung took off his hat and mumbled,"Guess this is actually happening now"
Jimin just laughed,reaching forward to cup Taehyung's head in his arms.He ran his hand through the trimmed hair and Taehyung could feel that Jimin already missed his fingers threading through his old luscious curls.Taehyung couldn't say anything and could only stare at Jimin,trying to soak in every little features of him,from his crescent eyes to his little pinky finger.Taehyung wanted to remember everything so he could reminisce on them after each tough day.He sighed heavily before bringing Jimin's hand between his,"I'm sorry that I can't be there tomorrow"
Jimin,sweet precious Jimin,only laughed,"Why are you sorry? You are going first"
"I wanted to be there"
"Well,put it this way.When I come back,you can be there to recieve me"
Taehyung nodded,mumbling out a small 'yes'.
"You are going to be fine",Jimin hugged him close and Taehyung buried his face into the elder's large coat.
"Ill miss you loads", Taehyung mumbled into Jimin's neck.Jimin withdrew,"come here"
He pulled the younger to the closest car and closed the door after them.He busily pulled Taehyung's and his masks away.He cupped Taehyung's face and smiled,"God,I'll miss you like hell"

Tears were already brimming in his eyes when Taehyung pulled him to another hug.Jimin bathed in the younger's warmth before pulling away,his fingers tracing under Taehyung's eyes.He kissed the small freckles,moles and his lips.Their lips did not move,just against over the other, pressed close.
"I love you", Taehyung mumbled.
"Time will go so fast"
"Call me whenever you can,I wanna hear your voice atleast"
Jimin nodded.
"Look up at the stars,okay? I'll be looking too"
Now Jimin was crying, Taehyung wiped those tears under his thumb.
"We would never have to part after this , Jiminah"
"Yeah,I know..Hey,am supposed to comfort you"
Taehyung laughed,"We can comfort each other"
"Ill miss you soulmate",Jimin said,before opening the door to the gruesome fate that was waiting upon them.

Taehyung did not come to Jimin after that,nor did he give him a last hug for he was scared that if he went to Jimin again,it would be hard to let him go.
He turned around for one last glance.Unsaid words and murmurs under breath passed and Jimin wiped a tear that slipped.
"Goodbye for a while",he breathed.
