Taehyung's eyes were on his shoes,there was a smudge of white paint along the sides and he doesn't know from where he had got it.But for now,he decided to concentrate on that white smudge rather than what's going on around him.He was sitting in the dimly lit meeting room,Namjoon and Yoongi were sitting by him,speaking in very low tones swiping up and down multiple news handles.To the far end ,after Yoongi sat Jimin,his hands clasped together and Taehyung could feel his heartbeat inside his own.The fear and pain radiated across the room easily off to him and Taehyung wanted to say that they were going to be fine but he hadn't been able to find voice since Seokjin had called him up and Taehyung was reluctant to untangle from Jimin and pick it up.And after several rings from several others,it was Yoongi's call that he attended.The news was everywhere,a photo from last night at the hotel lobby where Taehyung had kissed Jimin was everywhere.It was a spur of a moment and usually they were very careful to not do something stupid in the public but last night,when yellow lights reflected off of Jimin's face , Taehyung was overwhelmed.It didn't last even a full second,a tiny peck on Jimin's lips and all that he remembered about that kiss was Jimin's cheeks colouring pink but now that every news handles had that photo on their front page, Taehyung hated himself for being impatient and stubborn.Soon after Jimin's manager had taken him away in fear of getting spotted infront of Taehyung's room.He hadn't been able to talk to Jimin since.

The arrival of Bang PD caused a ruckus within the meeting room,everyone scrambled onto their feet as he came in, debating loudly with their PR.He stopped to look in between Jimin and Taehyung and asked everyone to sit.
"This is a mess, they're asking for us to release a statement asap",PR sounded stressed and Taehyung blinked hoping this was all a dream and he could wake up next to Jimin.

"That's why the meeting,did you all have breakfast?",Bang PD asked and Taehyung wasnt even sure who replied a yes.Then the conversation began and Taehyung's head was spinning,he tried to look at Jimin at times but he looked so pale,not even glancing at his side.. even once.Namjoon was ageing very quickly from the stress he was in and they debated on whether to deny the claims or to draw some other solution.Taehyung felt a nudge at his sides from Namjoon when he realized PD had called for him.He raised his head and he was expecting him to be angry but the man had a father like eyes about him,"We're going to have to announce denial"
And the first thing Taehyung did was to look down the table at Jimin, and Jimin had his head down and tears ran down his cheeks to his clasped hand.Taehyung had the urge to run to him but Namjoon had his hand pressed firmly on his thighs to keep him grounded.
"You have to choose,it's you two or BTS",PD said,his voice sad and the PR added,"There's no other way"
"Am sorry for putting you two at the spot",PD nim added and sighed heavily.Yoongi was rubbing circles on Jimin's back to ease him but his tears weren't stopping.They both knew what they were going to choose.
"What does this means for us ?", Taehyung found his voice and without stating it was obvious that both of them wouldn't choose themselves over their band.They had come so far,gone together a lot to throw it all away.
"We will set up an interview to deny the charge after the official announcement and have to do fanservice with other members for next few comebacks",PR sighed,"and you shouldn't be seen together at all,I'm not asking you to break up but it's better to do that so we can avoid any future allegations and scandals"
And Taehyung saw that Jimin was shaking and crying more,Yoongi had left his seat to stand close to Jimin and Taehyung wanted to take his place.
"It's better that you should",PD spoke.
"Shall we issue the statement?",PR asked and PD looked at Taehyung.
"I..I want to talk to Jimin..alone", Taehyung said and then there was silence.One by one the occupants left and the room was empty except for the two.Taehyung got up and walked over to where Jimin was sitting hunched.
"Baby-", Taehyung tried and Jimin turned around in his seat to hug Taehyung,his face coming over Taehyung's stomach.Jimin finally burst completely into tears and Taehyung ran his hands steadily through Jimin's hair,fixing them behind his ear repeatedly.
"Baby,don't cry.."
"I...I don't want to lose you..I can't-",Jimin swallowed and more tears fell.And Taehyung stooped to cup Jimin's face into his hands,rubbed a thumb across the pink cheeks.He was trying his best to not to break down.
"I love you and nothing can change that,okay.Its just a statement,it means nothing to us,okay? "
"They..they're gonna separate us",Jimin hiccupped and Taehyung hugged him again.
"I won't let that happen.. they're gonna forget this in a while..I am never letting you go", Taehyung withdrew to press a kiss on Jimin's lips,a seal of promise.They spend another few minutes,head pressed against each other,whispering promises that they will get past this fine but they didn't.Once the official statement dropped,they were more under the microscope.Taehyung and Jimin barely saw each other out of shoots,their schedules for recordings were even timed different.They were pulled apart as far as they could and eventually life got tougher.Kisses hidden behind dressing closets weren't enough,the late night phone calls weren't enough, texts between breaks weren't enough.
