Waves Find Their Land

Chapter 1: Upperclassmen

Izuku Midoriya was walking off of U.A. college campus. He was leaving after the utter failure of his entrance exam. He had scored zero points. He had only used One for All once and he broke both legs and an arm.

As he was walking he heard shouting behind him, "HEY!"

He had turned around to see a girl with blue hair rushing towards him. He also saw a boy with blonde hair chasing after her with a boy with Indigo hair close behind.

The girl stopped in front of him, "Are you Izuku Midoriya!?"

He opened his mouth but the only thing that came out was, "Huh!?"

She then grabbed his head to look at his hair, "Curly forest green hair with black highlights!" She looked over him, "Kind of short! Yeah your Izuku Midoriya!"

The blonde hair boy finally caught up, "Hado! You can't just rush after people like that! You could have given him a heart attack!" He turned to Midoriya, "Sorry about her man. We saw your entrance exam and when you destroyed the Zero Pointer she freaked out and went all over campus to find you."

Midoriya eventually got his ability to speak back, "O-Ok. U-Um how d-did you all see m-my entrance e-exam? I-I though i-it was only t-teachers?"

The blonde boy spoke, "Teachers can request certain students to watch different entrance exams. Kind of like a mentorship. If we find certain potential candidates we want to take under our wing once the school year starts we can do one on one teaching with them."

Midoriya nodded, "S-Sounds a-awesome! U-Um well I-I'm Izuku Midoriya. W-Who are you t-three?"

The blonde boy pointed at himself, "Mirio Togata!" He pointed at the indigo hair boy with his face down, "This one here is Tamaki Amajiki! And finally!"

The blue haired girl got in Midoriya's face and spoke really fast, "I'm Nejire Hado! But questions! Your quirk is so strong! But it damages your body. Why is that? Where do you get your black highlights from? Why didn't you use your quirk the entire time?"

Midoriya took a breath, "N-Nice to meet you H-Hado. Um I h-have a c-couple g-guesses but m-my best theory is t-that I can't u-use m-my f-full power s-so that's the d-drawback w-when I do. I get m-my black highlights f-from m-my d-dad apparently. A-And I d-didn't even t-think I h-had a q-quirk u-until a-an hour a-ago." The three went silent.

Hado was the first to speak, "What do you mean you didn't know you had a quirk!? How is that possible!?"

Togata chuckled, "I agree with Hado. How did you not know."

Midoriya smiled a little, "W-Well according to Recovery Girl I am a late b-bloomer. Y-You all k-know h-how s-strength e-enhancer t-type quirks s-sometimes take a year or more to show?"

Hado nodded, "Yeah! They do that because the body isn't physically capable of the strain it puts on it! Like denser muscles, stronger bones, more stamina, and a couple other things! Wait! Are you saying your quirk was so strong that you didn't even awaken it till the entrance exam! But you still would have known you had one! Your missing a pinky joint! And your parents must have similar quirks!"

He chuckled, "W-Well y-you s-saw my quirk i-in action s-so you t-tell me. Also I s-still have an e-extra j-joint in m-my pinky. N-Not to mention m-my quirk is n-nothing like m-my parents. M-My mom has a weak f-form of Telekinesis. M-My d-dad can breath fire a-apparently."

Togata spoke, "That does make sense. Your quirk is nothing like your parents, didn't awaken even a couple years later, and you still have your extra joint. I mean I have an extra joint to so just going off that isn't enough to say if you have a quirk or not. But still! Your quirk is insane! to not only show up after fourteen years and you still break your body! Train that quirk up and your body you will defiantly be a force to be reckon with on the battle field."
