Waves Find Their Land

Chapter 3: Saturday

Izuku Midoriya had just woken up in his dorm room for the first time. He had spent almost all day yesterday getting moved in. Since he was the first one into said dorms he was able to pick his own dorm. He had decided on the second floor with the third room on the right. It gave him an amazing view of the man made lake U.A. had. For being a man made one it was absolutely beautiful. Maybe he would spend a day their during his summer break.

Speaking of time he had actually finished part of his training. Yesterday he had accomplished the ability to keep full cowling on for long periods of time with no strain on his body. He had kept it active for three hours while moving and training. His mentors were impressed to say the least. But they did agree to give Midoriya some time to adjust to the dorms before they get back to training. But today Midoriya was hanging out with Hado.

Midoriya exited his shower and saw his phone had a message.

He opened his phone to see the message was from Hado and it read, "Hey Midoriya! I'm currently in the living area of your dorms!"

He smiled and got dressed and went down the stairs, "H-Hado-Senpai?"

She walked out of the kitchen, "Midoriya!" She bounced over to him and before he could process anything he was in a hug, "Good morning! How did you sleep? Do you like the dorms? You ready for today?"

Midoriya nodded to everything she said, "G-Good morning H-Hado-Senpai! I s-slept fine. I r-really do like the d-dorms. And y-yes I a-am ready f-for t-today. S-Speaking o-of that q-question."

Hado pulled back and smiled, "What is it?"

Midoriya saw her smile and slightly blushed, "U-Uh w-were are w-we going anyway?"

She nodded and spoke with such happiness, "Well we are going a couple places! Mainly the mall! The mall nearby is mostly frequented by U.A. students since it is so close by! But it is still packed! You need anything specific while we are there?"

Midoriya thought for a moment and looked down at his shoes, "Um maybe some new shoes?"

Hado looked down at his shoes, "You gonna try a different style?"

Midoriya shrugged, "M-Maybe. I h-have always h-had this b-brand since I-I w-was a kid b-but m-maybe i-its t-time for a c-change?"

Hado grabbed his hands, "Hey! Maybe it is. From what you told us about your past you never thought you would be here." She slightly rubbed a finger over his hands, "But here you are! How about we just look at some new shoes for you. Sound fun?"

He nodded, "Y-Yeah!"

He grabbed his stuff and they both left to their destination.

Once they reached the mall Hado grabbed his hand, "Follow me!" She then started leading him around the mall with Midoriya blushing while thinking, "She is holding my hand!"

Hado led him to a show store in the middle of the mall, "Come on!"

Midoriya followed and she led him to the men's shoe isle.

Once they arrived Midoriya looked around at certain shoes. He found his current shoes fairly quickly, "Hm." He thought back on everything he had experienced in those shoes. Years of bullying, being put down, told he wasn't enough, beat on, burned, and busted up. All those bad things but he also thought of all the good things. He wore these shoes when he met All Might, wore them everyday while training, wore them when he passed the entrance exam. But could not even a year of good memories replace years of bad memories? Not to mention when bad memories kept happening even while good memories were happening?

He put the shoe back up. No they couldn't. He knew a new shoe would not fix everything but maybe it was a start? He smiled and spoke, "Yeah let me look at some other shoes."
