Chapter 53: Promise

Izuku Midoriya walked into the jewelry store. He was wearing casual clothes. His shoes, jeans, dark green t-shirt, and his leather jacket.

As he walked in he started looking around at everything they had. They had every type of jewelry you could imagine.

As he was looking a worker spoke, "Good afternoon sir! Anything I can help you with this fine day?"

Izuku walked over rubbing the back of his head, "Um I would very much like some help."

She gave him a smile, "How may I help you?"

"Well I am looking for a ring for my girlfriend."

The older lady raised an eyebrow, "Um. Don't you think your a bit to young for an engagement ring?"

Izuku chuckled, "Yes I know but it's not an engagement ring. I was thinking something like a promise ring?"

She nodded, "Oh! That makes much more sense! But yes we do have those. We don't have a wide selection so you may have to make a custom order."

He nodded, "That's fine. Time and money are not really an issue."

"Ok! I will be right back."

She the walked into a storage area.

As Izuku was waiting a man came out from an office, "Um can I help you?"

He shook his head, "No the other person that works here is just getting something from that room."

The man nodded, "Ah that would be my wife. What is she helping you with?"

"Just a promise ring set for me and my girlfriend."

"A bit young to make that big of a promise like that aren't you?"

He nodded, "I know. But with the careers we are going into there is a risk one day one of us won't come back home. So I am doing this now while we still have time together."

The man gave him a smile, "That is a great way of looking at it. What career are you both looking at?"

"We are at U.A. college to be heroes."

Before the man could respond the wife walked out of the storage room holding a tray with about fifty rings, "Ok so I have all the promise rings we have here. Sorry about the small selection."

Izuku chuckled, "That's fine. I knew you had a small selection before coming here."

The wife put the tray down and Izuku started looking.

As he was looking the husband spoke, "Honey did he tell you what career he and his girlfriend are going for?"

She shook her head, "Nope. What did he say?"

"They are both in U.A. college to be heroes!"

The wife looked at Izuku, "Is this true?"

Izuku looked up, "Yep! I have wanted to a be a hero since I first saw them. Since then I have never dreamed of doing anything else."

The wife gave a smile, "That's awesome!"

Izuku picked up a ring and started looking at it. The ring itself was very basic. A basic black ring and down the center would hold gems all around the outside.

The husband, "Did you find one you like?"

He nodded, "Yeah. I think I did. Um would it be possible to change the gems? If not like you mentioned earlier I can pay for two custom orders."

She shook her head, "No we can not. But with two custom orders should only take anywhere from three days to a couple weeks. Just depends on everything you want. Do you happen to have a picture of her so I can see what gem may suit her?"
