Chapter 40: Together

By the time Izuku and Nejire got home it was time to eat dinner so they didn't have any time to talk.

After they got done eating Izuku went to the guest room and plopped down on the mattress. Today has been a whirlwind of emotions for him.

He rolled over and looked at the ceiling and took a deep breath. After a few moments he breathed out.

Then he heard a knock on the door, "Hey Izuku. Could I come in?"

"Come in Nejire."

She entered and gave him a smile, "Hey so I've been reading this book."

Izuku perked up, "W-What about it?"

She sat down with the book open, "Ok so I wanted to ask you some questions."

He nodded, "O-Ok. W-What questions?"

"Well in the book it mentioned exactly what Midnight said. This isn't gonna be sexual and it doesn't have to become a sexual thing. Not unless you want it to. Ok Izuku?"

He nodded, "T-Thank you."

She gave him a small smile, "You don't have to say thank you. But I just wanted you to know that unless you explicitly say you want it that way it won't be. Ok?"

"O-Ok."

She flipped a page, "Um it also says something about a reward system? Hang on let me read this bit."

She ran her finger over the page mumbling aloud as she spoke, "Ok so it seems that this is basically set on if you do something I tell you to do or obey a rule you get a reward. Simple enough."

She turned to him, "Since this is so early I don't wanna put rules on you. Especially with everything going on. I do just have one request."

"W-What is it?"

"Don't hide anything from me ok?"

"W-What do you m-mean?"

"I mean if you start having symptoms of one of your injuries tell me. If you want something from me tell me. If you just wanna be alone tell me. If you want something just tell me and I will do my best to do it ok?"

He chuckled, "C-Could you fix my brain t-to w-where it f-forgets s-she e-ever h-happened?"

"Oh Izuku." She held his hand, "You know I would if I could. But I am gonna be here with you through everything. I promise you."

He had tears coming from his eyes, "I-I want s-something right now. I-If p-possible." He sniffled.

"What is It?"

"C-Could I-I get a h-hug?"

She smiled and hugged him being very careful to wrap her arms around his lower back and not his upper back. She wiped his tears away, "I'm here for you Izuku. I'm here."

He hugged her back and she smiled at this. This was the very first time he initiated such a big physical touch. This was a big step down a ever windy and slippery road to recovery. But she was gonna be with him every step of the way.

After the hug ended they started talking more about what they wanted. Izuku just wanted to be cared for. Know he had someone there for him. Nejire just wanted to take care of Izuku.

After a little bit Izuku's phone rang, "Hm?"

He picked it up, "Hello?"

"Hello Midoriya! Great to see your doing ok after earlier!"

"O-Oh! H-Hey p-principal. W-What is up?"

He sighed, "I am afraid I bring bad news."

"W-What? H-How b-bad?"
