Chapter 46: Reason

The second those words left Sukuna's lips a giant shrine appeared behind him.

Deku was in a fighting stance but it was sloppy. He was tired, injured, and weak.

Sukuna laughed, "This right here once I activate it will start launching dismantles in whatever direction I want. Don't even have to think about it much."

Deku spit up some blood, "I already can dodge them!"

Sukuna scoffed, "You can. But what about them?"

He pointed to the crowd, "They are just in range."

Suddenly a man with red wings landed and using his feathers got everyone out of there, "Hawks here! Got everyone to safety kid!"

"Did you?"

Suddenly Izuku turned to his right and the kid from earlier was there he was running towards him.

"Malevolent Shrine Activate."

Dismantles started shooting out everywhere cutting up the ground.

Deku jumped in front of the kid when this happened.

He was constantly getting slashed using his body as a shield.

But only one thing crossed his mind, "WHY!? WHY AM I DOING THIS!? WHY DID I JUMP INTO THIS FIGHT!?"

Sukuna laughed, "HEROIC TO A FAULT! CAN YOU SURVIVE THIS!?"

A fire arrow hit Izuku straight in the back peircing through his body. The force behind him sent him flying and skidding across the pavement.

The kid also got loose but Hawks used his feathers to grab the kid and pull him back outside of the Shrine's range.

"GET OUT OF THERE KID! WAIT UNTIL WE CAN GET A HERO WHO CAN DEAL WITH THIS! BOTH OF US ARE NOT A MATCH!"

Deku tried to get up but his body wouldn't listen, "N-NO! H-HE C-CAN'T G-GET A-AWAY! N-NOT A-ANYMORE! W-WE H-HAVE T-TO G-GET H-HIM N-NOW!"

Sukuna laughed, "You can't even stand up kid! Your done! DISMANTLE!"

Izuku at this point had just managed to sit up and then the dismantle slashed straight across his chest and sending him just out of range of the Shrine.

Best Jeanist ran up, "Back up!"

He activated his quirk and tried to stitch his chest together but it wasn't working. The slash went to deep. Stitching wasn't doing it.

"Come on kid! Do that Black Whip thing you did earlier!"

Deku wasn't answering. His eyes were closed. He wasn't breathing.

A ambulance worker ran over, "OUT OF THE WAY! HIS HEART ISN'T WORKING! WE NEED HIM TO BE CONCIOUS!"

The worker attached paddles to him, "CLEAR!"

The machine shocked him but still no heart beat.

"AGAIN! HIGHER!"

Again it did.

"AGAIN!"

Same thing.

Suddenly Endeavor landed, "What are all you heroes standing around! We have a damn villian to deal with! Jeanist your with me! Hawks provide cover! Kamui Woods you try and get that bastard tied up! It seems whatever this shrine thing is has a cool down but could come back up at any moment! Let's go."

The four heroes charged him.

Izuku was floating around in a black mist.
