Chapter 71: Truth

Izuku Midoriya was getting dressed after staying the night at the hospital. Then he heard a knock on the door, "Come in!"

All Might walked in, "Geez kid. You look like you didn't just face off against the Number One villain."

Izuku nodded with a smile, "Well after Recovery Girl gave me a dose of her quirk and I slept I was perfectly fine. Not to mention I am excited about getting back to school to train out all these new quirks!"

"Well you are gonna have to wait on that."

"Why?"

"Kid One for All was just practically revealed to the world. Every news station in Japan is outside waiting on an explanation from the both of us! So we need to figure out how we are going to get out of this."

"I thought on that. And I am tired."

"Tired? You slept for twelve hours."

"I mean tired of lying. We were originally worried that All for One would target those who knew about One for All right?"

"Yes."

"All for One is in prison. One for All no longer needs to be kept a secret. And if he does get out the injures he received will keep him in hiding for the rest of his life. And lets say he does get enough strength. In that state he can't hunt down the entire world. This entire time we have been playing defense. It's time we go on the offense."

Yagi sighed, "I don't agree with this kid. But it's your choice. Are you sure."

"Yep." He put on his shirt, "Let's go."

As they were walking people stared. Izuku heard whispers about them but he just put them aside. He had bigger things to tackle.

Once they were outside they were practically swarmed but police officers led them to a podium.

Yagi spoke, "I'll go first. I will explain everything. You can just take questions. Got it?"

"Yeah. That's fine."

Once Yagi the stand everyone began yelling questions, "Questions will be answered shortly. But there is a question that needs to be answered everyone is asking. What is One for All. I will explain everything. But while I do I do not want anyone talking."

He then explained all about One for All past including All for One. The bits of information he left out were for Izuku to explain.

Once he finished he asked, "Any questions."

Everyone began yelling questions. After about five minutes and it still going he was about to speak but Izuku did first, "Hey!"

Everyone turned, "You all are professionals! Not kids! You all are acting like kids trying to be the first person to get a piece of candy. And if you all are gonna act like it then we can go. Got it?"

They were still silent and Yagi spoke, "Deku is right. I know everyone has a lot of questions. But if everyone is yelling them at the same time we can't answer any of them. So one at a time."

Someone spoke, "So you gave One for All to Deku here right?"

"Yes."

"How were you still able to use it?"

"I was using the embers of what I had left. It's like a fire. When I gave it to him my fire was no longer getting any more fuel while his was. The more I used my One for All the less time I had. Next question?"

"Why choose Deku? Why not a already full time hero?"

"There are a couple reasons. The main ones are pretty simple. If I chose a full time hero they couldn't ever show their new abilities until All for One appeared. If I chose a full time here I would be working with a smaller window of when All for One could appear. Also with choosing a student they would have the time to train it. But the main reason. The real reason. I saw myself in Deku. A kid with no quirk and yet still wanted to do so much. A kid with no power ran into a incident the pro heroes didn't run into. He showed true heroism in that moment. And I still see that fire in his eyes to this very day. The fire to protect everyone. That is why I chose Deku. Any more questions?"
