Chapter 20: Sports Festival Starts

Izuku Midoriya had just finished changing into his U.A. gym uniform. The Sports Festival started soon but he needed to have a talk with a couple people.

All Might knocked on his waiting room door, "Young Midoriya?"

"Come in!"

He opened the door and shut it, "I wanted to talk to you about today."

"I figured. What is up?"

"Well a couple things. Um so I talked to the heroes who have been training you an they have noticed something."

"What did they say?"

"Well um. They said that for the past couple weeks you have been more aggressive with training."

"Um I have been. Just had a lot on my mind since I visited my mom."

"If you don't mind me asking. What happened?"

"Well I told her about the heroes training me and you making me your successor."

"Makes sense. Good thing we had that talk about that. But what else happened?"

He sighed, "Well. She told me about my dad Hisashi. Well needless to say I didn't know everything on why he left."

"What do you mean?"

"Well I thought he was just working overseas. But apparently he and my mom divorced shortly after I turned 4. After my quirkless diagnosis. Turns out he didn't wanna raise a quirkless child. So they got divorced and he was forced to pay alimony and child support. Granted the child support stopped when I turned 18. But when my mom told me this I got so mad at him. So I sent him that picture I took of everyone. And then I told him, "Made it here without your support. I don't want or need it anymore." So yeah."

"Oh! So you have been angry?"

"I-I don't know. I have j-just had a lot of emotions whenever I think about him."

"I don't blame you. Having a parent leave on you like that."

Izuku nodded, "I just never thought of him for years and now I just can't get him out of my head."

"Well I can't blame you for that. But there was something else I wanted to talk about."

"What is it?"

"I wanted to talk about today."

"What about it?"

"Today I want you to do your best. Pull out every card you have in your deck. I want you to prove to everyone watching and say, "I am here!""

He nodded, "I will do my best All Might!"

All Might smiled, "That's great! I know you will make me proud."

All Might walked out of the room and Izuku was left to think.

But in the middle of thinking he heard a knock on the door and a female voice he knew all to well and brought a smile to his face, "Izuku! Could I come in?"

"Come in Nejire!"

She opened the door and smiled at her boyfriend, "Hey! How are you doing?"

He sighed, "In all honesty? Not good really."

She sat next to him and held his hand, "What is wrong sweetheart?"

"You remember a couple weeks ago when I visited my mom?"

She nodded, "Yeah! Sorry I couldn't come. But what about it?"

"Well whenever I went I told her everything. The heroes training me, me and you dating, and All Might making me his successor."
