Chapter 26: Breaking Point

Izuku Midoriya was currently at the arena. His opponent was his classmate Tenya Ida.

Midnight cracked her whip, "Alright everyone! The first match of the semi-finals! In one corner we have someone who has impressed everyone with his abilities and his spotless record with not a singular struggle in sight! Izuku Midoriya!"

The crowd cheered

Midnight smirked, "And in the other corner we have someone who has consistently pulled out every stop he can to win! Tenya Ida!"

The crowd cheered once again.

"Alrighty! 3!"

Izuku charged up Full Cowling to 30%.

"2!"

Ida planted his feet and smoke began coming out of his exhaust pipes.

"1!"

The two opponents stared at each other. A determined look on both of them.

"GO!"

Blue flames came out of Ida's pipes.

"Midoriya I know this won't be enough but I promised myself and my brother I would do my best! Recipro Burst!"

Ida charged at him at blinding speeds. Once Ida was close enough he tried shoving Midoriya out of bounds. But whenever he tried Midoriya didn't budge.

Ida looked down and saw that Midoriya had slammed his feet into the concrete burying them.

Midoriya smiled, "Gonna take more than that Ida!" He summoned Black Whip and wrapped them around Ida's calves. Doing this blocked Ida's exhaust pipes making him unable to activate his quirk.

Midoriya then punched Ida out of bounds.

Midnight cracked her whip, "And Izuku Midoriya wins by ring out! He advances to the finals!"

Midoriya walked over to Ida and held his hand out, "Good match Ida."

Ida grabbed his hand and Izuku helped him up, "Yes it was Midoriya! I only wish I could have done more."

Midoriya gave him a smile, "Get stronger and faster and when we fight each other again we will see."

Ida nodded, "I hope for a great match."

Izuku walked out of the arena and went back to his prep room.

While in his room he started thinking of his next and final opponent. Katsuki Bakugou. The person who has brought so much misery in his life. He knew he was strong. He knew that. Everything he had done proved that. He had gotten control of a quirk he had no knowledge of in a couple days. He had become the mentee of The Big 3. He had become so strong they changed their name from The Big 3 to the now The Big 4. He had basically mastered almost every training program the school had to offer. He had fought against a creature that was built to kill All Might. Granted he didn't do that well but still! He had obtained a quirk from a previous user of One For All. He had trained with multiple top ranked heroes. And the most important thing to him was that he was now the boyfriend of Nejire Hado.

But in the face of all that could he face off against the person who caused him every bit of pain he had known. The person who was responsible for most of the scars that covered his body. The reason his confidence was so far down it wasn't it the toilet. It was in a city sewer. The reason he was in therapy. The cause of his suicidal thoughts. The cause that for the longest time just the simple sight of Bakugou would send him into the beginnings of a panic attack. He still wasn't fully recovered from that and he never told anyone. That was something he needed to handle himself.
