It was the next day and Zac was pulling up to Melanie's home to take Zyla to breakfast.
"I really do want to apologize I was just caught off guard-
"Zachary it's fine, I understand and at that moment making sure she was okay was priority. I understand. " Melanie says
"I just don't want you to think I'd just do something like that. Fatima already be going off on me abou-
"Well she's use to whatever you've shown her before so I wouldn't blame her but I did tell her to relax because I just felt something had to be wrong but you know her. When's she fired up-
"Yeah and I play a piece in that. That's my fault." Zac says and Melanie just looked at him. She cared for Zac and always did since he was younger. The families were close but things changed when Fatima and Zac fell out. No one appreciated Zac's actions and his dishonesty.
"I'll get Zyla. She was complaining about her hair this morning, driving me crazy" Melanie says
"Sounds just like her mom's" he says while Melanie walked up the stairs to get Zyla.
After a few moments he could hear Zyla fussing.
"I don't like it like that!" He could hear Zyla yell out and he shook his head at his daughter.
"Stop it!" Zyla whined as she ran out of the room and across the hall. She noticed her dad out the corner of her eye and came to a stop.
"Daddy?" Zyla says as she walked down the stairs
"Hey princess" He spoke
"Am I going with you for real this time?" She ask
"Yes you are, you want to go get something to eat" he says picking her up from the stairs. She nodded her head.
"But my hair" she complained. It was up in a ponytail and he was confused what she was complaining about. Melanie came back down the stairs.
"What's wrong with it Zyla" Zac ask
"I don't like it like this" she says as she grabbed her head
"Her mother wants her hair up because she's doing this thing with pulling her hair." Melanie informed Zac
"No I'm not!" Zyla shouted and Melanie gave her a look which made her catch herself almost immediately.
"You talk to Mimi like that?" Zac ask and Zyla put her head into his shoulder. He pulled her up because she was trying to get out of the talking to.
"It's alright, I'll get her" Melanie says
"You need to apologize to Mimi, I don't know why you keep thinking you can yell at people" Zac says "You don't like when anyone yells at you right?" He ask and she shook her.
"Apologize" he tells her
"I'm sorry" Zyla mumbled
"You just yelled out, you can say it louder than that." Zac scolded
"I'm sorry" Zyla said in a clearer tone.
"What you mean she's pulling her hair?" Zac ask Melanie confused by Zyla's actions
"Why are you pulling your hair princess?" He asked Zyla and Zyla shrugged her shoulders
"I'm not sure if it's from boredom or what have you but she will find spots and gradually pull at it." Melanie explained. " I haven't seen her pull anything out but Fatima said there some small spots that are thinner because she's pulling at it" she adds
"What are you going to do if you look like daddy with no hair?" He asked Zyla and she looked at his head
"Auntie Shayla said you're bald" Zyla says "I don't want to be bald daddy" she says
