Speak Now (A Rhett and Link Fanfic)

Day Apart

Link wakes up at 1:30 pm and walks into Sophie's bedroom. He sees her sleeping underneath the blanket wearing a hoodie and her pajama shorts.

Aww. She got cold. Link thinks.

He walks to the bed and jumps onto it. Sophie yawns and Link puts his face in front of hers. Sophie opens her eyes and says,"What the heck Link?"

"I came to wake you up beautiful." Says Link.

"Oh I forgot to tell you. I'm going to my friend's house today. He lives about an hour away. I'll be gone until about 11:00 pm. You'll be okay right? Maybe you can hang with your girlfriends or something?" Says Link.

"Yeah! That'll be fun!" Says Sophie.

Link puts on his clothes and then walks back to Sophie lying on the bed. He picks her up and then puts her down. He grabs her, leans her backwards and kisses her for 10 seconds. Sophie wraps her arms around his neck while kissing and hesitates to let go. Link stops and lets go of her.

"Bye babe." Says Link.

"Bye love." Says Sophie.

Link walks out the door and gets in his car. He drives into the distance.

Sophie walks to her closet and grabs a dark blue, really short skirt, a black tank top, and black high heels. She fixes her hair and grabs her sunglasses.

Sophie hears a knock at her door and she runs to it. She opens the door and sees Rhett smiling.

"Oh, hey Rhett." Says Sophie.

"Hey Sophie! Is Link here?" Asks Rhett.

"No, um he just left to go to a friend's house."

"Okay. Well, do you wanna maybe... Go out to a restaurant?"

"Um..."

"C'mon pleeeease?"

"Alright."

"Yes!"

Rhett walks towards his car while Sophie grabs her purse and phone. She follows him and gets into the passenger seat while he gets into the driver's seat.

Rhett starts up the car and drives. Sophie puts on her sunglasses and dances to the music playing in the car.

(Sophie has always had a teeny-tiny crush on Rhett.)

They arrive in the restaurant and they are seated almost immediately. Rhett orders a Coke to drink and Sophie gets a water. The waiter comes back and takes their orders. Before he leaves, he says something to them.

"You two, are such a cute couple." He smiles and then leaves.

Sophie glares at Rhett and he smiles trying to cheer her up.

"I gotta go to the bathroom okay?" Says Sophie.

"Don't be too long!" Says Rhett.

Sophie walks into the empty bathroom and looks at herself in the mirror.

"Do not do anything stupid Soph. You know you love Link." Says Sophie to herself.

"Damn she sure is taking awfully long." Says Rhett. He taps his fingers on the table and waits.

Sophie washes her hands and then comes back.

Just wait Rhett. She'll fall for you by tonight. Then you know what to do. Thinks Rhett.

She sits back down next to Rhett.

He's only a friend. Just don't get weirded out Soph. Just a friend. Thinks Sophie.
