The biggest realization I've had this year is that nobody will change for you unless they truly want to. If they just keep hurting you, just pray, and then let it go.
Sometimes you have no other choice but to leave it in God's hands.
You can't change someone who doesn't want to change. They have to want to change for themselves.
You can't help someone who won't even try to help themselves. You can't drain yourself dry trying to make someone better who makes no effort to be better. You can't make someone love you or feel the same way about you as you feel about them, no matter how badly you want to. But, more than anything, and above everything else, you can not force someone to see your worth or realize how great and how valuable you are. If they don't want to see that, then that's their loss.
Moral of the story is to never beg for the bare minimum and don't break yourself down to nothing trying to be everything to someone else who doesn't even see how much value you hold in their life, or how worthy you truly are. Don't lose yourself trying to love someone who doesn't love you the same. Sometimes showing people the love we crave the most, or that we wish someone would show us in hopes that maybe they'll eventually start to love you back all the same, can be the thing that hurts you most.
Having a big heart isn't and will never always be a good thing. Sometimes our hearts are too big, and that alone can make it nearly impossible to let go of people, even if they're only hurting us.
