The room was dimly lit, casting shadows that danced across the walls. Raiden sat on the cold metal table, his expression a mix of curiosity and apprehension as he awaited Dr. Emeka's findings.

She studied the data on her screen, her brow furrowing. "This is... unusual," she muttered.

Raiden shifted uneasily. "What is it? What did you find?"

Dr. Emeka looked up, her eyes meeting his. "Your cellular structure has been significantly compromised. Approximately 76% has been altered."

His eyes widened in disbelief. "Is that even possible? What does that mean for me?"

She hesitated, choosing her words carefully. "It means your condition is unstable, volatile even. The alterations aren't natural; they're the result of external manipulation."

Raiden's mind raced as he tried to make sense of it all. "Is there anything that can be done? Any way to reverse it?"

Dr. Emeka sighed, her expression grave. "It's complicated. Reversing the alterations would require extensive treatment, and even then, there are no guarantees."

He swallowed hard, the gravity of the situation sinking in. "So, what are my options?"

She paused, her gaze intense. "You have two choices: undergo experimental treatment, which is risky and could potentially worsen your condition, or live with the uncertainty, never knowing when or if the alterations will manifest."

Raiden took a deep breath, his hands clenched into fists. "Then I'll take my chances with the treatment."

Dr. Emeka nodded, her eyes sympathetic. "Very well. But be warned, the road ahead won't be easy."

Raiden took a moment, letting the weight of Dr. Emeka's revelations settle in. The room felt colder now, the shadows deeper, as if reflecting the uncertainty that clouded his mind.

"Doctor," he began, his voice tinged with a hint of desperation, "What does this mean for my lifespan?"

Dr. Emeka's eyes met his, and for a brief moment, he saw a flicker of hesitation before she responded. "The alterations in your cellular structure make it difficult to determine an exact lifespan. However, given the extent of the damage, it's likely that it could be significantly shortened."

His heart pounded in his chest, each beat echoing the gravity of her words. "Significantly shortened? How short are we talking about?"

She paused, choosing her words with care. "It's hard to say. It could be years, or even decades. But the unpredictability of your condition makes it challenging to provide a definitive answer."

Raiden's mind raced as he grappled with the implications. "So, what you're saying is that I could have only a few years left? Or even less?"

Dr. Emeka nodded solemnly. "It's a possibility. The alterations have put a strain on your body, and while we can attempt to mitigate the damage, there are no guarantees."

A wave of despair washed over Raiden, threatening to engulf him. Thoughts of the life he had yet to live, the dreams he had yet to fulfill, flashed before his eyes. "This can't be happening," he whispered, his voice breaking.

She reached out, placing a comforting hand on his arm. "I know this is difficult to accept, but it's important to remain calm. We'll do everything we can to help you."

He looked up, his eyes clouded with uncertainty. "What's the next step?"

The air in the Mossdeep Space Center grew thick with tension, the hum of machinery drowned out by the palpable threat that hung in the atmosphere. Maxie, with his fiery resolve, stood tall and menacing, his eyes gleaming with malicious intent. Beside him, Tabitha, clutching the side of his face where blood trickled from a fresh wound inflicted by Mayu, glared at her with undisguised rage.
