Neville and I sat on the couch and we could see exactly where they where going. It was quite silent, until they came to the third floor. Peeves was there, but Harry interpreted the Bloody Baron so he would go away. When they came to Fluffy, the door was already open. There was a harp at the dog's feet, that must be how Snape's gotten past the Cerberus. Harry blew the flute he had gotten from Hagrid with Christmas, and the dog fell asleep quite fast. It took them a while before they went down through the trapdoor, which was also already open. Harry clutched the camera as he jumped as the first.
"It's okay!" he called. He had apparently landed in something soft. Ron came, and then Hermione.
"Lucky this plant thing is here," I heard Ron say.
"Lucky?!" Hermione yelled. "Look at you!"
Harry looked down at his legs, which were bound with long plants. Ron seemed to have gotten stuck as well. Hermione had jumped aside in time, and said that it was called the Devil's Snare. The camera went dark, the plants must have gotten around it, and Harry told them he couldn't breathe. I could still hear them all talk. Hermione was trying to remember what to do against it.
"Light a fire," I whispered, but they couldn't hear me. It worked only one way.
Ron told her soon enough the same, but Hermione said there was no wood.
"Have you gone mad?!" Ron shouted. "Are you a witch or not?!"
I looked at Neville and we both laughed.
Hermione took out her wand, lit a fire, and the plants slowly let go of the boys. They were visible again, and they walked on until they heard a sound.I saw a room, with a lot of little birds flying. It was not the room from my vision. The room was open, but the other side it was closed. They made a run for it, because maybe the birds would attack. They pushed, but the door wouldn't open.
"Alohomora!" Hermione tried, but the door didn't move the slightest.
"These birds can't be here for decoration," she said, while looking up. I looked closer into the small camera, and then I saw it. It wasn't birds, but keys! One of them had to be for this door. I wanted to say it to them, but then I remembered they couldn't hear me.
Harry discovered it too, and he noticed broomsticks that stood against the wall. They had to fly up and catch them, but which key was the right one? They were hundreds of them.Ron took a better look at the lock of the door, and said that the key was probably a silver, big one. They took a broomstick and started searching for the key up in the air. Suddenly Harry shouted that he found the key. Now they only had to catch it.
Ron dived from above, while Hermione closed it in from the bottom. Harry went right for the key itself. When they had it and were back at the ground, they tried the key in the keyhole. It fitted. I silently cheered. The open flung open, and inside was yet another challenge. A chessboard."What do we do now?" Harry whispered.
"Isn't it obvious?" Ron said. "We have to play our way across the board."
"Can't you just run past it?" I asked myself. But they didn't think about that. Ron said they were going to have to be chessmen. Ron walked to a knight on a horse. It started moving instantly.
"Do we have to join to get to the other side?" he asked the knight. The knight nodded. Then Ron started to think aloud on what to do. He was the one who was the best at chess, anyway. He taught me, but I could never beat him.
Then he told the other two where to stand, and the chesspieces moved off the board. They took their place and Ron directed them on where to stand next.It all went well until Ron hesitated. He sat on the horse as a knight as he looked rather scared around.
"If I make my move," he said to Harry, "the queen will take me. Then you're free to check the king."
I gasped.
"No," Harry said. "Ron, no!"
"What is it?" Hermione asked confused.
"He's going to sacrifice himself."
"No, Ron, you can't! There must be another way!"
"Do you want to stop Snape from getting that stone or not?" Ron said angrily. "Harry, it's you that has to go on. Not me, not Hermione, you!"
I heard Harry sigh. I also heard another sound, but I discovered that it was Neville's breathing who had fallen asleep against my shoulder. I smiled. It was late, so I didn't blame him.
