I decided to make a start on my homework, as I knew it wasn't going to be the last. We already had to write an essay for Snape, Binns and keep a dream diary for a month for Trewlaney. I noticed more people staring at me, probably because they didn't know before that Umbridge was my mum.
The lessons the next day seemed to make Harry's temper rise with the speed of light. The good thing was, that when we left Professor Grubbly-Plank, and set out for Herbology, the door of the greenhouse opened, and Luna came out.
"I want you both to know," she said, as she sped towards Harry and me, and she took a deep breath. "That I believe that He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named is back and I believe that you fought him and escaped."
"Er- right," Harry said awkwardly.
"Thanks, Luna, I always knew you were on our side," I smiled. She gave a nod and walked away.Ernie Macmillan came up to us too.
"I want you to know, Potter, and Black, that it is not only weirdos who support you. I personally believe you one hundred percent. My family has always stood firmly behind Dumbledore, and so do I."
"Thanks, Ernie," Harry said, and I smiled.
"See," Neville said to Harry and me. "You're not alone. There are some people that believe you."
I guessed that was true.~
A few minutes to five, Harry had to go, but I held him back for a second.
"You don't know my mother. Be careful around her."
"What do you mean?" Harry said confused.
"Harry, I have lived with her for fifteen years, I think I know what's she's like."
Harry nodded, and set out to her office. I prayed she wouldn't do it to him, because it was something she'd definitely do as detention. We didn't see him the rest of the evening. She probably held him there for hours.
The next day, I went up to Harry without Hermione and Ron being near.
"How was detention?" I asked innocently.
Harry shrugged.
"Just did some lines."
I didn't fall for that, and grabbed his hand.
"I knew it!""What do you mean?" Harry said angrily, pulling his hand back, on which scars were still slightly visible. "It's not like you ever had detention with her."
"She's my mother, Harry. Neville and I weren't always good kids. Revelio."
I tapped my wand on my hand, and showed it to him. He gasped.
"No way."
"Yes way."
Harry groaned.
"She's going to make me do this every night this week. Angelina is going to be so mad when she hears it. I'm supposed to be present at Quidditch tryouts Friday."Oliver Wood wasn't at Hogwarts anymore, that's why Angelina was now captain. But he had also been Keeper, which meant his position had to be filled by someone else.
"Only a week?" I said sarcastically. "I'm so jealous."
Harry shook his head.
"It's going to come to a point where the bleeding will barely stop," I said. "Better shut your mouth around Umbridge."
"Yeah, McGonagall also said that."
"At least she's on our side. Have you seen the way she looks at her?"
Harry chuckled.
"It'd be a wonder if McGonagall hasn't killed Umbridge by the end of the year."~
Harry's wound got worse every day, but he refused to tell Ron and Hermione. On Friday, I went with Hermione to watch the Quidditch tryouts. It turned out, Ron had applied as Keeper, and he had practiced in secret the entire week. He was actually really good, and got the position.
The Gryffindor team, along with Hermione and I, gathered in the common room to celebrate the new team. Harry came in after detention, clutching his hand, but no one noticed.
"Harry, I did it, I'm Keeper!" Ron said happily.Hermione had fallen asleep in a chair, but awoke when Ron, Harry and I came to sit with her.
"Listen, guys, something weird happened," Harry said suddenly. "I was in Umbridge's office, and she touched my arm, and suddenly my scar hurt again."
"What do you reckon that means?" Ron said.
"What if she's controlled by You-Know-Who, like Quirrell?" Hermione said.
"No, I'm pretty sure she isn't," I said. "Her being evil is just being herself. If she was possessed, I'd have known it, believe me."
"Hm," Hermione said. "But seriously, Harry, you've got to tell Dumbledore that your scar hurt."
"No," Harry said. "He's got enough on his mind. I'm not bothering him with this. I'll just write Sirius-"
"No, don't you remember what Moody said?" Hermione said. "We can't guarantee that owls aren't being intercepted anymore."
"Okay, fine, I won't tell him."
