Around the start of summer, Cedric and I walked through the crowded corridors, not paying attention to the jealous looks.
"So, what do you think the third task will be?" I asked, as June was coming closer.
"I have no idea," Cedric said. "But at least I don't have to worry about exams."
He chuckled.
I sighed loudly.
"I forgot that you don't have those!" I said. "I do."
He grinned.
"Well, I can always help you if you need that."
"That'd be awesome, thanks," I smiled. We stood still at the side of the corridor to let the crowd pass.

My vision suddenly darkened, and my head burned. I clenched the edge of the window hard. I saw a lot, and surprisingly, I memorized all of it. I saw a place that looked very much like a graveyard. Then I saw something shocking. A green flash of light, and a body falling to the ground. Cedric's body. Next I saw a clock, which I didn't know what it was for yet, and for the first time there was sound with it. Amos Diggory was screaming 'No! My boy!' and he cried over his son's body. Then the vision ended.

"Jynx! Hello, can you hear me?"
I came back to reality.
"Huh?"
"Are you okay?" Cedric asked me, with a concerning look.
I let go of the window and forced myself to relax. Of course I wasn't okay.
"Yeah, I just had a headache," I answered casually.
"You sure? You look all white. Maybe you should go back to your dorm or something, try to relax. Even I am getting anxious from these crowds," he chuckled.
"Yeah, okay."

Cedric walked me back to my house, and I went, shaking, up to my dorm. I let myself fall back on my bed. Cedric was going to die. And I had to save him. Ron was right again. He had said in our first year that these visions could mean something, that maybe one day I could save someone. Did he know he was good at Divination? This was the second time already. Despite everything I chuckled. Maybe he should go talk to Professor Trewlaney.
Speaking of Trewlaney, she had predicted a death, of which I had felt unsure. Maybe she was right as well.
I sighed and focused my mind. I had to come up with a plan now.

I had told Hermione that I was ill, and while that wasn't entirely the case, I felt bad. Very bad. It was a mixture of a growing nervous feeling, and the idea that I could throw up any moment. I didn't come out of my dormitory, and when the girls asked what was going on, I just told them I wasn't feeling well. They had suggested to go to the hospital wing, but I refused.
Lavender, Parvati and Sally-Anne found me strange, but luckily Hermione acted normally to me, even though I felt so weird I didn't react to things as I would normally do.
Hermione also kept me updated on strange things happening.

"Hello, Jynx," Hermione said one evening, throwing her bag on her bed and sitting next to me on my bed.
"Do you know what happened today?" she said, with a slight shock on her face.
"What?" I said vaguely, feeling like I wasn't able to raise my voice.
"Harry and the other champions got to hear what they have to do for their third task. Well, apparently they have to through a maze on the Quidditch grounds, and they'll have to face all kinds of things, like creatures and spells, you know. Harry can do that, I know he can. But after they got that information, Krum wanted to talk to Harry, and then they found Crouch."
I lifted my head a bit and listened more carefully when she mentioned Crouch.
"He was really mad, Harry said," Hermione continued. "He said that Crouch thought he was talking to Percy, and that he really needed to talk Dumbledore. He also mentioned something about that it was his fault, and that Bertha is dead, and that the Dark Lord was getting stronger. Isn't that a bit creepy?"
"Yeah, it's weird," I answered.

"So Harry went to get Dumbledore, while Krum stayed with Crouch, but when they came back, Krum was unconscious and Crouch was gone!"
"Huh."
"Then Karkaroff showed up, and blamed Dumbledore for attacking his student! How rude!"
"Indeed."

Hermione did worry about me, though, and so did a lot of others.
"Are you sure there's nothing I can do?" she asked for the hundredth time. "I even heard that the teachers, mostly McGonagall, are worried about you. And Cedric came to me for the fourteenth time to ask if you were still alive."
"I'm fine," I smiled vaguely.
"Hm," Hermione said unconvinced.
