It wasn't a great start of our holiday. I barely got any sleep, and when I did, I dreamed of my father blowing stuff up. The day after the Three Broomsticks incident, I still felt very vague and confused. Harry and Neville didn't seem great either.
The trio were arguing about Harry. Ron and Hermione told him not to go after Sirius Black to try and kill him, but Harry clearly didn't see the dangers. I didn't know what to think and sat silently with Neville on the couch, staring into the fire. I was glad the rest of the Gryffindor Tower was gone, because Hermione had just reminded us that the holiday had started.

"Let's go and see Hagrid, we haven't seen him in ages," Ron suggested.
"No, Harry's not supposed to leave the castle-" Hermione said.
"Yeah, let's go," Harry said, standing up instantly. "Then I can ask him why he never mentioned Black when he told me about my parents."
"Come on, Jynx," Ron said. "Come on, Neville. It's not the end of the world. Anyway, fresh air will be good for you. It's the holidays! You can't stay in here forever."
I closed my eyes for a second.
"Fine," I sighed, and slowly stood up.
"Alright, I'll go," Neville said.

My mind wasn't thinking about going anywhere, but Ron was right. Without saying anything, The five of us put on our cloaks against the freezing cold and set off to Hagrid's. We didn't talk much while walking, and I constantly looked at Harry, wondering if he hated us now, because our father was responsible for the death of his'. I wouldn't blame him if he did, really, but it wasn't our fault. We didn't even know before now. I decided not to talk about it.

Ron knocked on Hagrid's door, but no answer came. He put his ear to the door.
"Is that Fang?" he asked confused. I laid my ear against the door as well, and frowned. A weird, sobbing noise came from inside.
"Hagrid!' Harry said, knocking loudly on the door. "Are you there?"
The door finally flung open, and from what was once a happy, always enthusiastic giant, was nothing left. Hagrid had red, swollen eyes, and was crying even as he stood in the doorway.
"Yeh've heard!" he said, but of course we had no idea what he was talking about. He flung his arms around Harry's neck, almost causing Harry to fall. For a moment, I forgot about my father. The rest of us took Hagrid by his arms and carried him back, where he let himself fall in a chair, and continued sobbing.

"What's going on?" I asked in confusion.
"Wait, what's this?" Harry said, taking up a letter from the table. Harry read it aloud.

"Dear Mr Hagrid,

Further to our inquiry into the attack by a Hippogriff on a student in your class, we have accepted the assurances of Professor Dumbledore that you bear no responsibility for the regrettable incident."

"Well that's good!" Ron said, but Hagrid continued to sob and waved his hand so Harry read on.

"However, we must register our concern about the Hippogriff in question. We have decided to uphold the official complaint of Mr Lucius Malfoy, and this matter will therefore be taken to the Committee for the Disposal of Dangerous Creatures. The hearing will take place on April 20th, and we ask you to present yourself and your Hippogriff at the Committee's offices in London on that date. In the meantime, the Hippogriff should be tethered and isolated. Yours in fellowship..."

"But you said Buckbeak isn't a bad Hippogriff," Ron said. "I bet he'll get off-"
"Yeh don't know them gargoyles at the Committee fer the Disposal o' Dangerous Creatures!" Hagrid said, sniffing, and wiping his tears away.
A sound made us jump, and look around. Buckbeak was laying in a corner, eating a piece of raw meat, causing blood to flow onto the floor.
"You'll have to put up a strong defence, Hagrid," Hermione said, but he told that Lucius Malfoy had it all in his hand, and that it wouldn't matter. Did that mean Buckbeak would be... executed? I kneeled down, not to close to the beast, and looked at him. I had flown on him, and now they were going to kill him. It wasn't fair.
