The next few days I tried to spend time with Cedric, and Luna, who I hadn't spoken to much. Mostly because of the lack of time, and both of them were in different houses than me.
Cedric was already seventeen, and he seemed positive about entering the Triwizard Tournament.

"Are you sure?" I asked.
"What if something happens to you? What if you-"
"Nothing will happen to me, I promise," Cedric assured me. "It's just a game."
"In which people have died over the centuries."
"That's centuries ago! Don't worry so much, Jynx, I'll be fine."
"I just don't want you to get hurt or something," I said softly.
Cedric took my hand.
"I won't," he said, while looking into my eyes. "And if I do, well, I'll have to take the risk. If I enter it doesn't automatically mean that I will win. And think about it, if I do win, it'd be huge. A thousand Galleons..."
"It's always about glory and money with you boys," I rolled my eyes.
Cedric chuckled.
"I wouldn't keep it all to myself, you know."
"Yeah, sure."
"No really, I'd give you-"
"I don't want money," I said, narrowing my eyes. "I just want you to be safe."

A playful smile appeared on Cedric's face,
"Well, in that case, I'll keep it to myself."
I slapped him on his arm. Chuckling I walked away.

Dark Arts, I had no idea what to think of that now. Moody wanted to test if we could resist the Imperius Curse. As long as that was the only curse he would try out, it was fine by me.
One by one he put the students under the curse. Dean hopped around, singing the national anthem, Lavender imitated a squirrell, Neville did some awesome gymnastics, and so on. But none of them could fight off the curse. We had to do the exact opposite of what Moody told us to do.
"Miss Black," Moody called. I stepped forward.

"Imperio."
I felt very strange, a sort of relaxed and floating sensation.
"Run to the other side of the room," I heard in my head. I didn't have to do this. Right?
"Do it. Run."
I turned around, facing the space I had to run, and felt my legs moving forward, but slowly.
"Faster now."
"No," I said, but it wasn't coming out of my mouth.
"Run!"
"No!"
I took a step back with my left leg and balanced uncomfortably, as if my legs were made of wood. They weren't, unlike one of Moody's.
Now I had no feeling in my legs at all. My right leg moved a bit forward, but I lost control, sank through my knees and fell on the ground. The floating sensation was being taken away and I could feel my legs again.

"Yes!" Moody said. "That's it! What's your technique?"
"I don't know," I said, as I slowly got to my feet. "I just tried to do anything but run. So I tried to fall."
"Nice!" Moody said satisfied, with a sort of smile. "Next!"

The rest of the class didn't come as far as me. Some did hesitate more and tried to fight it, but they couldn't resist it. When it was Harry's turn, he did even better than me.
He didn't move at all for a long time, then suddenly he half-jumped, half didn't, and fell forward, causing the desk to fall over as well.
"That's more like it!" Moody roared. "Look at that! Potter fought, and he damn near beat it! Let's try that again, Potter, and all of you, pay attention! Potter and Black here are the only ones that have shown resistance."
Harry had to try again, and again. Until he could fight it off completely.

When we came into the Entrace Hall, we found a crowd of students standing around a sign on the wall. Ron read aloud what it said. It was about the Triwizard Tournament, and that Beauxbatons and Durmstrang would arrive on October the thirtieth.
"Hello, Jynx!" I heard behind me.
"Oh, hi Cyril," I responded.
"You will enter the Triwizard Tournament, won't you?" he asked me.
"No," I laughed. "I'm only fourteen, there's no way they'd let me."
"Oh, that's a bummer," Cyril said. "I think you'd do great."
"I doubt that," I chuckled. "But I heard Cedric is interested in entering. He's from your house after all."
"Really? Nice! I'll go find him."
And he was off.
