"Goodbye, children," Sirius smiled, and with a 'pop', he was gone.
Neville and I ducked under the Invisibility Cloak, because we didn't want to answer questions. But it was just Ron.
Ron asked Harry what he was doing that made so much noise, and Harry asked him what he was doing.
They spoke angrily to each other, and I guessed that it was too much for Harry when Ron made another rude comment, so he took a 'Potter Stinks' badge from the table, and threw it, and it hit Ron's forehead. Then he marched off to his room. Ron just stood there, and not wanting to linger, Neville and I quickly went past Ron as well.~
The next day, Harry went outside with Hermione to catch her up on everything she had missed last night. I wanted to go with them, but Neville wanted to talk with me.
"After Harry told Sirius everything, I realised I had been wrong," he said, looking guilty. "He had been telling the truth after all."
"I'm glad you think that way," I smiled.I noticed that the days before the first task were extremely stressful for Harry, and he was constantly in the common room with Hermione. She was learning him the Summoning Charm. Apparently it would help him with this dragon task. I let them do their thing and felt slightly better after Neville was now on our side.
At lunch on November the 24th, Harry was snatched away from the table by McGonagall, who told him he needed to get ready with the other champions.
"Good luck," Hermione, Neville and I said, and Harry went nervously away.
"He'll be fine," Hermione assured us.We had to go to the grounds, where stands had been conjured. Suddenly, I felt a nervous feeling, and not for Harry, but for Cedric. I wish I could have at least wished him good luck. But it was too late for that now.
We sat somewhere high up, and saw from a good distance, a dragon."Make some noise for our first champoin, Cedric Diggory!" Ludo Bagman yelled through a megaphone. Cedric entered the grounds as the crowd applauded.
"He will be facing the Swedish Short-Snout, and has to retrieve the golden egg from it, using only his wand!"
Cedric stood before the dragon, who sat on loads of other eggs, but also the golden one.
"Your time starts... now!"
He walked around the dragon, and spotted the egg. The dragon stood right up, and steam came out of her nose, as he attempted to come closer.
Cedric yelled a spell, pointing it at the a stone on the ground. It turned into a labrador.
"Smart move!" Bagman said. The dragon walked to the labrador to inspect it, and Cedric sneaked behind her towards the egg. The dragon, however, snorted, and then noticed Cedric behind her.
Cedric looked up, shocked, but snatched away the egg.
"Oooh, he's taking risks, this one!"
But before Cedric could get away from her, she launched a fire beam at him.
The crowd gasped, and I stood up. Oh no..."That must have hurt!" Bagman yelled, as Cedric was clenching one side of his face painfully. "Good thing is, he's got the egg!"
Cedric looked up to the crowd and held the egg high in the air.
The crowd cheered, and I along with it.
The judges held up scoreboards with quite high scores.
Charlie Weasley then appeared, along with some other dragonkeepers. They took the Swedish Short-Snout away with ease, and replaced it with another one, and another golden egg."One down, three to go! Next up, Fleur Delacour! Get ready to face the Common Welsh Green!" The crowd applauded, and Fleur entered. She nervously smiled up to the crowd, and when Bagman yelled: "Go!" she circled the dragon. She used her wand to put some kind of spell on her, which made the dragon go in a sort of trance, and she fell asleep.
Fleur moved closer, but the dragon snored, accidentally shooting a flame out of her nose. Fleur's skirt caught fire.
"Ooh, don't think that was a smart move!" Bagman said, as the crowd yelled.
