“Andy where are you? Andy, come on out,” The voice kept repeating over and over again getting more and more worried each time she repeated the sentence. You could hear the words dripping with pain and terror as time kept on passing by without finding the lost.

Each time she spoke I tried to move but each time I was unable to, held back by something that was keeping me from meeting the girl with the angelic voice, the one who wore her black and gold halo on her head proud of who she is and that she’s overcome everything that life threw at her to see how many times she would crumple and how long she stayed down.

Lifting my head across the room I could see nothing except total blackness, so when a light flickered on I winced back in pain.

“Andy, oh Andy,” Risking a glance I could see her, the girl with the black and gold halo, the girl with the angelic voice, the girl whose grey eyes didn’t look dead anymore, but were filled with life that she had yet to experience. My angel, my beautiful and precious angel.

 My lovely Raven,

She rushed over to me and cupped my face in her hands carefully tracing the scars that ran across my face. Tears fell out of her eyes as she let her forehead rest against mine trying to understand it all. I knew she wouldn’t though.

“Raven, I’m so sorry, I’m sorry Raven. I’m so sorry.” I whispered over and over again. “I’m sorry I couldn’t protect you, I failed you, and I failed you.” The sounds of footsteps echoing off the walls were getting closer and closer each time we heard them stomp. Raven looked up at me and it dawned on her that we couldn’t do anything this time. This was our last fight.

            “Together,” She whispered,

“Forever,” I finished. I kissed her greatly one last time before we rose to our feet, and stood together against the enemy one last time, only to collapse to our feet in seconds. Not once letting go of each other’s hand.

I rubbed my eyes once more as we waited for the waitress to bring us our food, CC and Raven were having some debate about stuff animals and how one is never too old for them. The dream that I had when I feel asleep on the bus had been driving me crazy, it had felt so real; the emotions I felt were still raw scaring me.

I hadn’t been watching Batman that time, I was watching her, memorized by the way the sun hit her black hair, the way that her body fit against mine as if we were two puzzle pieces that were finally found and put together. The way that she just, her, made me crazy. Crazy for something, anything, but I don’t have a clue at all.

Then when I woke up with tears blurring my vision and saw that she wasn’t in my arms. For a quick second I had thought that the dream was real and somebody had taken her away from me. My heart pounding a mile a minute didn’t slow down until my eyes made contact with hers, it was only then that I could actually calm down.

“Andy, hey Andy come back to planet earth for a second.” I ignored whoever was trying to get my attention to finish my train of thought.

“Portfolio,” Looking away from, whatever I was looking at, I focused my attention on CC who kept on snapping his fingers in front of my face and glared at him. He knows that I hate that word. I raised one eyebrow skillfully as I gave him the chance to explain why I shouldn’t kill him right then and there for using that word around me.

“Foods here so eat before it gets cold Lanky Six,” CC and I snapped our heads towards Raven who was putting a spoonful of waffles and ice cream in her mouth. Her spoon stopped in midair a few inches away from her mouth as she put the “But I did nothing wrong, I’m the innocent one here,” look. She smiled sweetly before continuing to eat.

“There is no way that can be considered breakfast.” Jinxx pointed his fork at Raven’s food.

“Andy why not, we have waffles and blueberries here, I honestly see nothing wrong with considering this breakfast.”

“Yeah but the whole three scopes of chocolate fudge ice cream kinda kills the whole, breakfast thing.” The table was quiet as we waited to hear what she would say to that.

Raven was just glaring at Jinxx, “Shut up you meanie,” and went back to her food. I looked out the window this time to hide my smile. “Get rid of that smirk Biersack, I ain’t blind.” I looked at Raven who was now glaring at me instead of Jinxx.  I raised my hands as she continued to glare for a few extra seconds before finishing off her food.

“I honestly don’t know whether to be afraid of you or what so I’m just going to stay out of this.” Ashley said when he realized that he was in between Raven and Jinxx. He pulled his plate as close as he could get with still having room to move his arms.  I smiled and picked up my fork but instead of eating I just pushed things around barely nibbling anything. Feeling somebody tap my foot I looked under the table to see a blue and white sneaker covering black and red striped tights.

Lifting my gaze I saw Raven watching me.

Are you okay, she mouthed; I nodded my head and forced myself to eat some of the eggs that were on my plate so she wouldn’t have to worry. After forcing some food down I got up and headed out for a smoke that I desperately needed.  Inhaling deeply I breathed out almost sighing as I cleared my mind.

The things that I was feeling, I doubt that they’re normal. I shouldn’t be feeling like this for two reasons, the first being, she’s not legal for me to even date. The second being I’ve known her for about three days. Taking another drag I let the smoke linger for a few more seconds before letting it out. I had never felt this way when I was with Scout or Juliet, so why was I feeling this way now? There has to be some reason behind all of this, there has to be.

Hearing laughter I glanced up and saw Ashley carrying Raven on his back as she stole his cowboy hat and put it on her own head. Without realizing what I was doing I was standing up with my fist clenched together. My blood surged together as they laughed together.

“Andy, come on.” Hearing her voice calmed me instantly my fist unclenching. Why did that happen? I was close to anger and starting a fight with my best friend and he hadn’t even done anything. He did nothing, so why did I feel as if he betrayed the hell out of me. Turning her head around to face me the sun hit her just right, creating the illusion of a halo around her head. Her eyes weren’t so, dead so to speak, at the moment. The smallest hint of life hid in them, it was there, barely but it was there.

Swallowing I started walking back towards the bus just as Raven jumped off of Ashley and ran towards the back where I was. Grabbing my hand she started to pull me towards the bus. Chuckling I couldn’t help but smile at her antics. Looking away from her for a second was my mistake. Jake was closet to me and it was the way he was looking at her that made me confused. His smile was wide and his eyes had a shine to them that I could only describe as one thing, love.

Jake was falling for Raven, just like I was falling for her. And we knew nothing on how she thought of us.

Well, if it’s a fight he wants, then a fight is what he’s going to get, because everything is fair in love and war.

Especially love.
