Hey guys, before you start i just wanted to say that i was listening to two songs while writing this and since i can only put one, you have the song on the side and if you want you can listen to Sleeping With Sirens cover of Iris. I started listening to that more towards the end.
I sighed and opened my eyes and looked around. Everybody was worried, Jake had been gone for three hours. Carefully I moved my arms and was about to push myself up when Andy walked in. Once he saw me he quickly came over and helped me sit up.
“You shouldn’t be overworking yourself,” Andy said.
I rolled my eyes but pulled on his shirt to kiss him, something we’ve been doing a lot today. “I wasn’t babe.”
He sighed but kissed me once more before handing me my hot chocolate.
“Any signs of Jake?” I asked.
He shook his head, “he’s not answering his phone. Jinxx and Ashley went out to go look for him an hour ago, they just got back.” I bit my lip frustrated. I was worried about him.
“Hey,” Andy said. He put his hand against my cheek and I found myself leaning into it covering his hand with mine.
“Don’t worry, we’ll find him,” I nodded my head but stayed quiet and sipped my drink. It burnt my tongue but I didn’t pay attention to it, I was too worried about Jake just up and leaving. It wasn’t something that he would normally do.
“We need to talk to him,” I said, looking Andy straight in the eye. He raised his eyebrow and sat down in the chair next to my hospital bed.
“Babe, you just woke up after two weeks.”
“I know,” I leaned forward and gripped his hand, “but this is something that we have to do. We can’t avoid this forever and look at what’s already happen from not being honest and just running away.” I reached out to brush his bangs away but pulled back when I saw that they were no longer there. Andy smiled and kissed my forehead.
“When you were in Texas I decided that I needed to do something and so I cut my hair and had it done so all the dye was gone.” I nodded my head and ran my hand through his brown hair that was short again.
I smiled, “I like it.” I whispered. “But we still have to talk to Jake when he comes back.”
“Yeah, we do. And we will.” Andy lifted my hand and kissed my knuckles keeping my hand close to his mouth. Leaning back into the pillows I let out a breath and turned my head. Andy was reading something that was on his phone.
“Andy,” I said.
“Yeah babe?” He looked over his phone and his blue eyes hit me like a laser.
I licked my lips, “we, still need to talk.”
Andy stared at me but put his phone away and leaned back in his seat. I could see him swallow as he looked at the door. I moved my thumb back and forth against his hand until he looked at me again.
“I heard everything Andy,” I breathed out. I didn’t want any more secrets between us; I was done with keeping things from everyone.
“What?”
“I heard everything,” I said again. “When Lisa called you guys, I heard you, but.” I hesitated, not sure if he wanted to hear this.
Andy leaned forward in his chair and took up the pattern on my thumb, “but what?” His voice was so gentle that I started crying.
“I didn’t remember you,” I whispered. His thumb stopped moving.
“I didn’t know who was here or the guys. The last thing that I remembered was sitting at my desk watching the Fallen Angels video. But I felt safe with you here and wanted to comfort you when you were crying and begging me to wake up.” I reached up to wipe away my tears but was stopped by the needle in my arm. Andy finally got up and moved me to the side and slid into the hospital bed with me wrapping his arm around my shoulder wiping my tears away.
“Each time I tried to remember and couldn’t I got so frustrated that I just wanted to give up, but then I would think of the man that was sitting her next to me, pleading that I would wake up.”
Andy pulled me against his body and ran his hands up and down my back. “It’s okay Raven; you don’t have to say this.” I shook my head and cried as I grasped his shirt. It was a while before I could calm down enough to talk again.
“I saw her Andy,” I whispered. “I saw her.”
“Who, who’d you see?”
I leaned back and looked him straight in the eye. “I saw my mom.”
His eyes widen but then soften as he leaned down and kissed my forehead. He didn’t say anything; he knew that I had to get this all out.
“She helped me wake up but made me chose. I wanted to be with her Andy, so badly I wanted to go with her and leave things behind.” Andy stiffened when he heard this so I rested my palms against his cheeks as his eyes filled with tears.
“But then she reminded me that she was my mother, and that I am hopelessly in love with you. I’ll be able to all of the mother daughter stuff that I’ve missed out on with her, just, later. We’ll all be together at some point and I’ll be able to introduce you to my mother and have those silly barbeques where the family comes over and has fun, later.
“There’s always going to be a later Andy, you just have to be careful on what you pick for that later to be. And I’m not going to wait for later to see you again. I need you now.” I whispered. Andy looked up at the ceiling and started blinking his eyes. Reaching out I gently pulled his face back down so he was looking at me again. The tears flowed freely down his face as well as mine as we put our foreheads together.
“I love you Raven” Andy cried out.
Tilting my head I kissed him like there was no tomorrow.
“I love you too Andy.”
