Taking in a shaky breath I opened my eyes and looked at the angel in front of me, a tired smile crawling onto my face as I pulled her closer to me. She shifted in her sleep but didn’t wake at the movement. It’s only been a few days and yet it seems like yesterday when she came back. I’ve never been like this before, not with any of my other girlfriends, but Raven, Raven’s something else. To make minutes feel like hours when she wasn’t near was painful, it was an ache that never seemed to leave or heal until she was back in my arms.
Feeling Raven shift in my arms I lifted my head and watched her move her head closer to my chest, bits of honey colored hair falling down and covering her face in the process. Carefully I pushed it back so I could see her face again, it’s interesting to see someone sleep, and their faces seemed to look younger as sleep took over taking away any worry, pain, or anything they fussed over for at least a little while.
Honey blond hair, long dark eyelashes, pale skin and pale red lips made her look like a kid, as if she didn’t have a worry in the world, she looked ageless, like an angel.
I lightly brushed the tips of my fingers against her cheek, her lips curling up into a smile in her sleep as I brushed my lips where my fingers were. Pulling back I laid my head back down, watching her hand unconsciously search for mine. Once they curled around mine I heard her sigh as she continued to sleep. Fixing the blanket so that it covered both of I fixed my arm so that she would be comfortable with her head on it and rested my forehead against hers, closing my eyes, letting sleep take over once more.
