Taking a deep breath in I stuck my hands in my pockets and walked back into the hospital, think about what James had said.

“Love works in many funny different ways Jake, it can bring the greatest pleasures and the greatest sorrows, love is not just one but both, it cannot exist without the other.”

He was right; Andy and Raven had experienced great pain and love throughout their time of being together. But it’s brought them both together each time and it made them both stronger. There won’t be anything that will tear them apart this time.

I wasn’t meant to be with Raven, I understand that now. It was just another crush and jealousy and together I thought I was in love with her. When in truth, I almost lost a good friend, someone I considered a brother to some silly emotion that wasn’t even real.

And it was all my fault.

Shaking my head I sighed just as I walked right into the hall where Raven’s room was and saw everyone pacing back in forth, everyone but Andy.

“What’s wrong?” I asked. Their heads shot up as I walked closer. God, what happened while I was at the park?

“What’s wrong?” Where the hell have you been? We’ve been trying to call you for four hours now.” Ashley snapped. I smiled, he wasn’t mad. His voice said one thing as his eyes shown relief.

“Phone’s dead,” I said, shrugging. “I just went to the park and was talking to someone.” They nodded their heads but didn’t say anything more about it.

“Well now that you’re here, we have some news.” Lisa announced. Furrowing my brows I glanced at her smiling face. Her eyes weren’t red anymore, now that I think about it, nobody’s eyes were bloodshot.

They were all smiling to be honest.

“Why don’t you go say hi to Raven,” CC said.

Glancing at him I walked to the door and knocked seeing it was shut.

“Come in,” her bell like voice said.

Walking in I smiled when I saw Raven sitting up with a cup in her hands with Andy in the bed right next to her.

“Jake,” Andy said, medially sitting up. Shutting the door I walked further into the room until I was at the foot of the bed. “Where have you been?”

“At the park, I needed some time to think and just lost track of time.” I stopped and smiled at Raven. “It’s good to see you awake Rave.”

She smiled and nodded her head, “yeah, it is.”

“Look, I need to talk to you guys.” I started. Raven and Andy looked at each other.

“We need to talk to you too Jake, about a lot of things actually.” Raven said.

“Then let me go first, it might answer any questions you have.” Taking a deep breath I watched them nod their heads.

“I’ll admit, I was a fucking idiot. I lied to you guys and told Raven the truth in the beginning when it should have been you Andy and I’m sorry, for everything. I loved you Raven, and I thought that I loved you the same way Andy loved you, but it wasn’t until an hour ago did I realize that it wasn’t the same kind of love. It was a simple crush mixed with jealousy and I thought I was in love with you. But I’m not.

“You two are meant to be together and because I lied from the start it’s the reason you’re here, why your heart stop working.” Raven opened her mouth to fight back but I shook my head.

“Think about it, I’m the reason why you stayed Utah, and why Andy got drunk and kicked you out of the bus. Because of one fucking wrong lie it lead to every bad thing that’s happen between you guys and ended you up here in a hospital. God sakes Raven, you’re seventeen; your heart shouldn’t stop working for no reason! It’s my fault and I’m so sorry, for everything.” I stopped to take a breath and think about what I was going to say next.

“Earlier someone told me that love works in many funny different ways, it can bring the greatest pleasures and the greatest sorrows, love is not just one but both, it cannot exist without the other. You guys have been through heaven and hell together in two months and it’s brought you together and made you both even stronger than before. You two belong together and with no one else.” I finished. Raven’s eyes were brimming with tears as she clasped Andy’s hand.

“Besides,” I said, “If Andy can find his other half by just opening a janitor’s closet and having you pass out into his arms, I think I can find mine eventually.” Andy smiled and wrapped his arm around Raven’s shoulder and kissed her temple.

“You’ll find her Jake,” Raven said smiling, “I know you will.”

“Yeah, she’s out there somewhere.” Andy added.

I smiled, “yeah, she’s somewhere, just got to keep my eyes open. It’s good to see you awake again Raven.” Standing up I put the chair back and walked back to the door.

“Jake you don’t have to go,” Andy said.

Turning back around I smirked at him, “Raven’s awake and you don’t want her all to yourself? What has happened to you Andy?” Raven’s eyes widened as she covered her face. Shaking my head I walked out into the hall with a smile on my face.

“What’s up with the grin?”  Turning I faced CC who, even though he was confused, was smiling too.

“Nothing,” I said, “everything’s just better.”
