Chapter Thirty Seven Raven

This is dedicated to purplemonster4 for making me smile.

            Blinking I slowly opened my eyes, confused as to where I was. The light blue walls and white dresser wasn’t what my room at the motel looked like. The TV was paused at a fighting scene between Will Smith and a giant alien, food bowls were scattered with snacks still in them along with sodas. Feeling something grab my arm I looked down and saw Jace looking up at me, his big green eyes sad as he stared at me.

            Remembering what happened I bit my lip and squeezed my eyes shut, feeling my body want to shut down, a feeling that I’ve almost gotten used to. The feeling of small hands on my cheek got my eyes to open up and make my body move Jace so that he was in the middle of me and the wall. I didn’t want him falling off the bed and getting hurt.

            Sitting up I grabbed the blanket that had fallen to the ground and covered the both of us smoothing his hair back and out of his eyes. Such innocence should be protected and cared well for. I would do anything do be completely innocent again, to not know everything, to still believe in magic and fairies, to not know the harsh world thrust upon us out of nowhere.

            To be a child once more

            I didn’t stop Jace when his hands got into my hair; I just laid my head down on the pillow and closed my eyes. I didn’t open my eyes when I felt his warm breath on my face as he moved up on the pillow making our heads even. I didn’t open my eyes when he tapped my cheek; they were too heavy to open.

            “Raven, wake up,” Two voices that I treasured mixed together making me lull to sleep. One that I’ve only heard on his voice mail recording, the other I haven’t heard in years.

            “Baby, it’s time to wake up,” Opening my eyesI could see Andy lying next to me, on the other side of Jace as he smiled at us. His left hand played with my hair as his right rubbed Jace’s back causing him to look at Andy. I smiled and grasped Andy’s hand as the baby between us talked to us in alien while poking my cheek. Making a funny face I got a laugh out of the boys as I felt Andy kiss my forehead pulling me closer to him and Jace so there wasn’t a giant space between us.

            “Raven darling, wake up,” Confused I looked behind Andy and saw mother. Her eyebrows were drawn together as her eyes filled with tears. Her mascara ran but she ignored it as she kept saying wake up. Wake up Raven, wake up. I shook my head at her and turned back to Andy who smiled while brushing his bangs out of his eyes.

            Faintly as if outside the house I could hear a baby that sounded like Jace scream. I turned to try to look out the window but Andy touched my shoulder, shook his head and lay back down on the bed closing his eyes. Feeling my eyes grow heavy as I tried to keep them open I lay back down, now that Jace stopped poking my cheek.

            The sound of sirens going off didn’t wake me nor did the cries of a girl in the background.

            I closed my eyes just as sound, sight, and touch, all became silent.

DA DA DA.

Sorry for the month long wait guys, i actually had it written for a while but i just hadn't felt like going on my computer so i could update. I blame the kindle i got for christmas i can't seem to stop playing games on it, so i apoligize for making y'all wait so long to see what happens. And you'll probably hate me for ending it the way i did but, oh well, I'll see you guys think when you comment.
