CHAPTER 30: PRACTICAL PARTNERS

*Beep* *Beep* *Beep*

'It is the morning and the first day of the written exams and I could not help but feeling a little bit nervous. Me, Eijiro and Mina had helped each other with the studying so we should be fine but why am I still nervous?' I thought as I got up to get ready for school.

I finished getting ready as I am heading to the kitchen to find my dad and Hawks already in the kitchen. Hawks is about to finish brushing his wings while my dad is making some breakfast as I am preparing the table. Once the three of us finished eating our breakfast, I was helping my dad and uncle Hawks clear the table before leaving the house. I just handed the last of the dishes to my dad. As soon as we were just finished getting ready. I waved my dad and Hawks off as I went towards UA.

<TIME SKIP A LITTLE>

I walked into class and while I was heading towards my seat, I just made eye contact with Kirishima, causing my face to heat up and then he came up to me.

"Morning pebble, am I making you blush?" he teased.

"Morning Eijiro and of course not" I said as I was blushing a little bit.

"You are so cute, good luck on your tests pebble" he said, confidently.

"T-Thanks and you too Red" I stuttered before Kirishima went towards his seat.

I sat down in my seat a blushing mess, just as Mr Aizawa walked in.

"It's test day...I hope that all of you studied. Your time starts now so you have three days. Begin" Mr Aizawa said as he was passing out the tests.

'Come on Ellie, you got this' I thought to myself as I picked up my pencil.

<TIME SKIP>

"Pencils down" Mr Aizawa said, concluding the tests.

'I am really glad that's over' I thought to myself.

"Now, everyone get your hero costumes and meet me at Ground Beta" he said.

"Yes sir" all of us said.

"Hey red, how did you do?" I asked after I waited for Kirishima.

"Great, thanks to you. I couldn't have done it without such a good tutor" he said as he blushed a little.

"Yeah, I have to agree" Mina said as she caught up to us.

"I am really happy to help and I already know that we aced it" I said.

<TIME SKIP A LITTLE BIT MORE>

"Now then, let's begin the last test. Remember, it is possible to fail this final. If you want to go to camp, then don't make any mistakes. I expect some of you have gathered information within a day, believing you have some idea of what you will be facing with today" Mr Aizawa said to the class...along with the rest of the teachers at Ground Beta.

"We will be facing robots!" Kaminari and Mina said.

"Actually this year's exams will be completely different" a cute little mouse or bear said, coming out of Mr Aizawa's scarf.

"Principal Nezu! You are changing things?" all of us said in unison.

"These tests now have a new focus, there will be hero work of course but also teamwork and combat between actual people. So what that means is all of you will work together in pairs and your opponents will be one of our esteemed UA teachers, isn't that fabulous" he said.

"We are going to be fighting the teachers!" all of us said in unison.

"Additionally...your partners and opponents have already been chosen. They were determined at my information, based on various factors, including fighting styles, grades and interpersonal relationships. First, Yaoyorozu and Todoroki are a team...against me" Mr Aizawa said with a smile while holding his scarf.

"Question: which one exactly?" I asked while raising my hand.

"Ah, apologies. What he meant to say that the male Todoroki would be teaming up with Yaoyorozu to go against him" Principal Nezu clarified.

"Then we have Midoriya teaming up with Bakugo and their opponent is..." Mr Aizawa started to say but he got caught off by a thump.

"Uh..." the two of them said.

"I am here...to fight" All Might said as he landed in front of the duo.

"We are up against All Might?" the two of them said.

"You are going to have to work together boys if you want to win" he said, presenting the handcuffs to them for the exam.

"You really think we need a handicap to win against you, well think again" Bakugo said.

"HAHAHA, this will be fun" All Might said.

"Let's begin, the teams will take the practical exam in the order you were given, we have a stage prepared for you. Sato, Kirishima...you two are up" Mr Aizawa said.

"Yes sir" the two of them said.

"Those waiting their turn to fight can either watch the exams or strategize together as a team, it is your choice after all" he finished.

"Good luck red" I said as I kissed him on the cheek.

"Thanks pebble, you too" he said as he blushed a little before he left.

Me and Sero were heading to the library to try and gather some information about Midnight and her quirk. When I find a video of Present Mic introducing some quirks at UA.

"The R-Rated Hero Midnight, her quirk: Somnambulist. She can put people to sleep with a fragrance that is coming off her body, it usually does better on guys than on girls" he said.

"So in other words...you better stay away from her or it will be over Sero" I said to him.

"I will try and stay away from her as long as I can" he said.

Then the two of us went back to the room to watch the other matches.

<TIME SKIP>

The two of us had arrived back at the observation room.

"Hey Kirishima. How are the fights so far and how are you feeling since you failed yours?" I asked.

"Hey pebble, I take it you and Sero strategized already? I am a little sad that I didn't pass" Kirishima said.

"We did and he has to stay from her long enough for him to pass and don't worry about it, you will get it next time" I said.

"Thanks pebble, we are only on match six so far" he said.

"Ok" I said as we were watching before I had to go.

After a while, me and Sero are heading to the battle location.

"Good luck pebble" Kirishima said.

"Thanks" I said as I blushed a little before kissing his cheek.

Then Kirishima blushed a little as I left the room.

"Team Todoroki and Sero practical exam, ready, start!" a droid announced.

Let the 2nd to last match begin!
