“Emilia we don't have to do this” Evan sighed for the twentieth time.

“Evan” I gritted my teeth “Jane has text me all week saying how excited she was to see me, I cant just back out now” I brushed a hand through my hair to un tangle it from the wind.

Evan reached over cupping my cheek “they would understand if you would let me tell them the reason”

“no I don't want talk about that” I shut the topic down.

Ever since that phone call from Jed both Evan and Flynn have been walking around on egg shells around me, afraid I was going to snap and break down any second. I had told them I was both fine and even went into work the next day but was sent home and threatened to be sacked if I came in again that day.

Evan hadn't mentioned anything about it, which I was grateful for I mean how the hell can I talk about the possibility of my family being dead. They still had to complete the autopsies and that could take a couple of months or more since the bodies were badly decomposed.

So I did what I did best and blocked everything out. I didn't want to think about it until everything was official.

John also found out his little friend was killed since that had been reported in the news the next day but luckily my name wasn't mentioned. John wasn't happy and Flynn knew that by the messages he had received that night.

Evan didn't think it was a good idea that we came to his friends place for lunch but I didn't mind it would be a good distraction for me and I knew he was eager to prove me wrong about our bet.

Yes that was still on, and I still didn't think they were the horrible monsters he had told me about on the way up.

Four year old cant be that bad can they?

Evan took my hand as we walked around to the back of the house, he stopped suddenly making me crash into his chest as he turned around, his arms held my waist to steady me, his touch made me feel better, it made everything seem better for me.

“I hope you got the bunny suit all clean and ready to wear tomorrow” he smirked giving me a kiss

“well I hope you have that bank card of yours ready because your going to need it and I already know what I want” I bit my lip grinning.

He tilted his head back groaning “this is going to be either very good for me or fucking bad and leaving me broke”

Truth was I had no idea what I wanted and I was still going to dress up as a play bunny regardless of winning. I just loved to tease him.

I heard them before I seen them “uncle Evan” a little girl and boy squealed loudly running over, ok my ears are deaf now, Evan turned giving me a knowing smirk “game on baby” he lent over kissing me quickly. Yeah game on and I think I have already lost.

The twins looked exactly like Jane, they were the cutest kids ever the little boy had brown short hair, he was head to toe in cars clothing, the little girl was in pink with her hair in pigtails, they stopped just in front of us and stared up at me, I felt like I was being under inspection.

“uncle Evan who is that?” the little girl asked still staring at me.

Evan crouched down eye level with her “that is Emilia”

“is she your girlfriend?” she asked quietly still staring, the little boy walked towards me and eyed me up and down.

Evan chuckled standing back up “yes she is my girlfriend”

“do you kiss her?” the boy asked, holy crap where does four year old learn this stuff

“no but she kisses me” Evan grinned “Emilia this is Lola and Doyle”
