FAKING IT NEXT DOOR

1. The First Meeting

"So what happened to your Mr.Rudy ? You don't speak much about him these days.", Prisha's bestfriend, Diya said.

"There's nothing much to speak about him you know. He is the last person I want to talk about at this time. I don't want him to come in my dreams.... Again.", Prisha huffed bending down to tie her shoelace while waiting for the lift of her apartment .

Late night walks while talking with her bestfriends Diya and Meera was the best part of her day.

Diya:- "Fine if you say so.... Okay then I need to sleep now I need to assist in an important surgery tomorrow. We'll talk later. Bye babe"

Prisha:-"Yup. All the best Dr.Diyu. B-bye!"

As she hung up the call , she heard a familiar manly voice, "Never knew I come in your dreams ... Interesting."

As she rose up, she saw her Mr.Rudy , in his all black gym wear. And she regretted keeping her call on speaker. "Yaa I get nightmares where you are trying to kill me... Oh my god please tell me you are not a serial killer", she gasped.

He chuckled slightly , "No Snowflake I am not". "Stop calli-- ",their conversation was halted by the ding of the lift...

They both huffed and entered the lift . He pressed their floor number ... Yaa they were neighbours, they lived on the same floor. The lift ride was unusually silent. Both had decided to not bicker surprisingly. Within a few seconds , the lift halted to their floor and without even glancing at each other they went into their respective flats which were opposite to each other.

At Veer's House

"Ya Ma I just came from the gym" he said while making the salad.

"Beta stop eating all those grasses that you eat, come home I will make tasty parathas for you ", his mom said while looking at him making the salad on the video call.

Sitting on the dinning table and taking a bite of the salad ,he said ,"Okay okay Ma, once I am free I will come home, you can feed me parathas then."

The next line that his mom said made him choke on his food ... "Bring along Prisha as well".

Gulping the water he said, "Ma why do you think I will bring her with me... I have just told you about our not so friendly interactions a couple of times, she is just a neighbor who messes up my mind sometimes but ya she is just a neighbor. Period."

"Uh huh Right... Does couple of times mean 'every day in the last 5 months' in your dictionary?" his mom laughed saying this...

At this point he was literally annoyed. "Ma , I really need to take shower and sleep now. Good night, Love you ! " ,he said not wanting to think about Prisha and his encounters.

"Love you too beta, come home soon . Good night."
Hanging up the call, he went for a shower. As soon as he hit the bed , he went into deep slumber.

At Prisha's House

She tossed and turned in her bed. It had been 1 hour since she was trying to sleep but every time she closed her eyes, the only face which flashed before hers was that of Veer.

"Goddd, he has already messed up my mind, why does he have to mess up my sleep now!!!", Prisha said frustratedly, hiding her face in the pillow, "How i wish i hadn't met him that day... ", closing her eyes she replayed the memory and soon sleep engulfed her ...
