Meherbaani nahi tumhara pyar maanga hai..

Tumhe manjoor hai tabhi to yaar manga hai

Gairon ke dar se, tere sheher se

Hai kasam rishta todun na

Tera rastaa main chhodoon na

The sunlight streaming through the balcony's curtains was merciless. I groaned, dragging the blanket over my face in a half-hearted attempt to shield myself. My neck protested as I turned — sharp and stiff from the previous night on the couch. It took me a moment to recall when and why I had passed out here in the first place.

Prisha.

I sat up with a start, the blanket , which Prisha might have thrown over me sometime in the night, pooling at my waist. For a moment, I stayed there, staring at the front, hoping I could convince myself that nothing had changed.

The apartment was quiet – too quiet. She wasn't here. Her absence carried an almost physical weight and I hated the emptiness of it. The faint scent of her perfume still lingered in the air, grounding me.

The memories from last night came rushing back and then the words, the words I couldn't take back. Nor did I want to.

I could still hear my own voice echoing in my head, raw and unfiltered.

I love you Prisha.

Yes, last night, I confessed my love for her. I had held back for days and months, looking for the right time to tell her how much she meant to me. But last night, the words finally broke free. I should've been relieved to see her face when I said it. But all I remember is the flicker of something in her eyes—shock? Fear? I didn't know.

Suddenly, my phone, which was kept on the coffee table, buzzed with a notification. As soon as I opened it, a flicker of hope beamed in my eyes realizing there was a text from Prisha.
