"I thought you hated hugs" , I voiced out as he wrapped his arms ever so gently around me.
"I still do, but hugs from you are an exception", he pulled me closer, a small smile tugging at the corner of his lips.

As the sunlight seeped through the curtain, I blinked my eyes open, feeling a dull ache in my neck. I glanced down to find Veer, still asleep, his head resting on my lap. The events of last night flooded back and I didn't realize when I had fallen asleep in the sitting position. Moving slowly, I eased his head onto the pillow with careful hands. I touched his forehead and took a sigh of relief as I registered his fever had subsided.
My body protested as I stood up, my neck and back stiff from sitting in one position all night. I remembered the video call that Veer's mom had asked me to make in the morning and I decided it would be best if I could go home and freshen up real quick, before Veer wakes up or his mom calls. I was literally in the same clothes I had worn to my office yesterday.
Picking up my tote bag from beside the bed, I slipped out of his apartment and headed to my own to take a quick shower. After taking a bath and changing into a fresh pair of clothes, the first thing I did was mail my manager that I would be taking a leave today. I needed to take care of Veer and there was no way I would even be able to focus on my work when he isn't well. Besides, if time permits there is always an option of working from home.
After dropping the mail, I made a beeline for Veer's apartment. I also called the nearby grocery store and placed an order for fresh fruits as I thought it would be best for him if he ate some fruits. When I entered his room, he was still asleep. I knew it was because of the medicines but we can't forget the fact that he normally sleeps like a bear in hibernation. And I am not kidding!
Handsome bear though.
Just then, my mobile vibrated with the incoming video call from his mom and three others. It was a group call.
As soon as I picked it up, Veer's mom, dad, grandmother and Swara came into the frame, all of them making the call through their respective mobiles.
"Hi everyone ! " I waved and they reciprocated back, my voice reverberated slightly, indicating that all four of them were sitting in the same room, but attending the call from their respective mobiles.
"Hello beta. How is Veer now ? " his mom asked.
"He is better now. I was just about to wake him up. Give me a minute. " I smiled at the screen and moved towards Veer to wake him up.
I called his name a couple of times and shook his shoulders with one hand while the other held the mobile. Finally after several attempts at waking him up, he finally opened his eyes and smiled lazily at me when his gaze found mine.
Suddenly, he reached out and grabbed my hand, pulling me towards him with an unexpected force. I gasped as my mobile literally flew from my grasp and landed beside him on the bed due to the jerk while I practically landed in his arms, our faces inches apart.
