It was a hectic day at work for Prisha. She had to meet the deadline of one of her two projects that she had been working on . And not to forget, the thoughts about how the meeting between her and Veer's Family would have gone ,clouded her mind the whole day.
Although she had called Veer during the lunch to ask if everything had gone well and despite him assuring her that everything was going smoothly , she was still apprehensive as she reached her apartment .
She fished out her keys from her handbag and as soon as she opened the door, the aroma of dinner wafted from the kitchen. She kicked off her shoes, her tiredness getting replaced by a sense of warmth, relishing in the moment that her parents were here.
"Arey waah kya shot hai !!! ", Prisha heard her dad's voice.
(Wow! What a shot!)
Curious, Prisha ventured further, only to be greeted by the sight of Veer and her dad engrossed in an India vs. England cricket match.
"Virat aaj century maarega dekhna ", her dad cheered enthusiastically while Veer was perched on the edge of the sofa, eyes glued to the television screen.
(Virat will score a century today )
"Sam Curran is bowling good too ", Veer shared his opinion.
It had been two minutes of her standing there and both the men hadn't even noticed her. So, she cleared her throat loudly, to make her presence known which caused Veer and her dad to finally look at her.
"Arey Prisha beta, you are here! ", her dad said, acknowledging her presence.
"Finally!!! You noticed ", Prisha squinted her eyes at him.
"How was your day Prisha ? ", her mom asked, emerging from the kitchen.
"Long. But , now I feel better ", she replied, embracing her in a hug and finding solace in her arms .
"Fresh ho jaa... Dinner is almost ready ", her mom smiled, stroking her head gently.
(Go freshen up)
Prisha nodded at her and went to her room, not beforing stealing a glance at Veer, who looked as handsome as always in his blue denims and black round neck sweatshirt. His messy hair gave him a charming look.
Prisha freshened up and changed into a comfortable pair of top and shorts.
As she walked out of her room, she heard loud cheers from the television and saw her dad and Veer giving a high-five to each other. She couldn't help but chuckle seeing her dad and Veer bonding over something as unexpected as cricket."Prisha, Virat just scored a century. Come here fast, they are showing the replay ", her dad said cheerfully.
"I see you have got a new cricket partner Dad ", she eyed Veer, as she settled on the empty space between them.
"He says I am more fun than you ", Veer said playfully .
"Hawww Dad.... How could you do this to me ", Prisha whined. She knew Veer was just pulling her leg.
"Mujhe kyu fasa rahe ho Veer ", her dad said and Veer chuckled lightly.
(Why are you getting me into trouble )
