"I thought you hated hugs" , I voiced out as he wrapped his arms ever so gently around me.
"I still do, but hugs from you are an exception", he pulled me closer, a small smile tugging at the corner of his lips.
Intrigued, I slightly tilted my head...

The low hum of voices surrounded me, but all I could focus on was the pale figure lying on the bed. Prisha. My Prisha. A thin sheen of sweat clung to her forehead, her lips dry, her brows furrowing as if even in sleep, something weighed on her mind.
I had never felt this kind of fear before. It clawed at my insides, something raw and primal. The moment I had seen her collapse, my heart had stopped. I had called Diya, of course, but it hadn't been enough. She suggested to me that I needed someone here immediately, which was why I had also called my family doctor.
The doctor had checked her vitals, his voice calm and professional as he spoke to Diya. "She's dehydrated. And I'd assume she hasn't been eating properly."
That made my jaw clench. Prisha not eating properly? Why? What had caused this?
Diya turned towards me, her gaze silently demanding for answers.
I recalled each and every moment in the past three days and then the realization hit me like a bullet. Whenever I had asked her out for lunch or the night when she had asked me to come over for dinner, she had very conveniently dodged my question of her not eating. Now it made sense.
"We didn't meet a lot in the past few days but, with whatever I can recall, I assume she hasn't taken care of herself. " I voiced out.
Diya sighed, rubbing her temple. She turned towards the doctor to discuss Prisha's vitals.
The doctor left after giving instructions and handing over the prescribed medicine to Diya.
I thanked the doctor and escorted him till the door. When I entered back ,a tense silence filled the room. Diya, Meera, Sahil, and Harsh all lingered, their expressions mirroring my own worry.
Diya turned towards us, her doctor mode slipping just slightly into that of a concerned best friend. "Something must've happened. She wouldn't just neglect herself like this. Did anything happen between you two Veer ? " She paused, her sharp gaze flitting between me, Sahil and Harsh. "Or did anything happen during the event?"
One possibility that gnawed at me was if me confessing my feelings to her was the cause of all this. But that just didn't make sense. Why would she stop taking care of herself merely because of my love confession ?
Just then, Sahil shifted uneasily beside me. "Maybe..." He hesitated before exhaling heavily. "Veer's ex-girlfriend spoke to her."
Fuck. Everything in me went still.
When did this happen ? As far as I could recall, I was there with Prisha when we had encountered Saniya.
"I was with Prisha when we met her. She didn't speak to her in front of me." I said.
