"I thought you hated hugs" , I voiced out as he wrapped his arms ever so gently around me.
"I still do, but hugs from you are an exception", he pulled me closer, a small smile tugging at the corner of his lips.
Intrigued, I slightly tilted my head...

"That bitch" I muttered under my breath as I stormed into Veer's apartment, laptop tucked under my arm. I hadn't even bothered to knock on his door. He had given me access and we had fallen into this unspoken rhythm of me showing up at his house whenever I felt like it.
As I marched through the living room, I could already feel my blood boiling, my mind replaying the conversation I had earlier in my office with that colleague of mine and my manager. I called out for Veer as I wasn't able to spot him anywhere. He had to be at home cause I had seen his car in the parking lot. Just then , I noticed that the balcony lights were on , glowing faintly in the dark. He had to be there.
Sliding the balcony door, I stopped dead in my tracks. Veer was there, doing push-ups like he had no care in the world. The soft yellow light from the bulb kissed his skin, beads of sweat sliding down his arms. His shirt clung to him at the back due to the sweat. He was too focused, his muscles tensing with every moment. For a second, I forgot why I was here. God, he was a distraction, a hot , maddening distraction. How I wish he was shirtless.
"Oh God, you scared me! " He glanced up, catching me watching him and breaking my reverie. A smirk tugged at his lips as he got up, wiping his forehead with the back of his hand.
"What's wrong Sweetheart ? " he asked, his voice teasing but his eyes narrowed in curiosity as he made his way towards me, all confidence and grace.
I struggled to find words for a second, heat creeping up my neck that had nothing to do with the situation and everything to do with how damn good he looked. "My colleague ... " I managed to say, trying to focus on his face "is interfering with a very important project of mine." My gaze betrayed me, trailing back to his chest. The outline of his muscles was clearly visible through the drenched shirt . "She is just trying to sabotage my work by telling my manager that I am not giving my hundred percent to the project." I brought my gaze back to look at him.
Veer raised an eyebrow, stepping closer. "Want me to have a word with your manager ? Since my company is working with yours, I can, you know, put in a word for you."
I shook my head quickly. "No, I have got it handled. My manager trusts me with my work so that isn't a problem. It's just that, that colleague of mine is a bitch. I can't stand her."
He chuckled softly, the deep , rich sound bringing a tingling sensation in the pit of my stomach. "So that's all that brings you here or something else ? " he asked, not pressing the issue further. He crossed his arms over his chest, his muscles rippling under the pressure.
"Um, I was also getting bored and had some work to do so thought a change of scenery would help me be more productive. " I answered, more flustered than I wanted to admit.
