Ink P.o.V

I had been spending the last five days with this person I had met... I did remember that I was leaving soon. We lost track of time at this point but we had a concrete plan in mind, how to escape together. We began talking about my shock collar and how he has a chip in his own soul that at the click of a button, explodes. The cameras also caused a problem but at night time, they deactivated them sometimes to save up energy, especially on a cloudy day where the solar panels wouldn't absorb much.

We needed to hit one of those days or we're dead. I do remember exactly where to go to leave and he knows when the cameras activate. The biggest problem was the door but instead, that night, we spoke about other things, the plan far into our minds.

"We've opened up since when we met... you know, five days ago."

"Heh, yeah. Thought I would end up killing you with the W.E."

I had a flashback to when Flenius isolated us in a room filled with knives. His guards held my hands behind my back as they injected something purple into Killer's neck then hurried to hide behind the glass panels. Then, my friend started shouting in pain as he ran by me to grab a knife. I had taken a small one earlier but he threw the stand over in rage. This is the power of W.E, a purple drug that infuriates the user, you gain strength and speed for the control of the substance on your own body and mind.

He then grabbed my neck and slammed my head against the wall repeatedly until I bled and was able to push him off. I thought I was going to die in this instance but with a little talking and knife throwing, I was able to snap him out of it, the effect still persisting. That night, we could've escaped but the cameras were active. Most probably to watch his own movements, "But you didn't-"

"Luckily."

"Oh and the conversation about the confession~"

I blushed as I remembered that.

That night, I smiled as we cuddled. Didn't take long before I craved affectionate attention from someone again.

"So, when you get out of here... if we do... what will you do?"

"Most probably get on that train and go confess to Pastel discreetly."

"What do you like the most about him?" "His smile, his creativity, his personality." "Wow."

Killer looked downwards, saddened. "Did you have a lover?"

"Yeah..."

"Oh...who?"

"Some guy named... Passive."

"What happened to him?"

He began crying as I comforted him.

"He... he exploded during a rebel and Peacekeeper fight. That's why I don't pick sides anymore, I just help whoever I wanna."

This is one of the first times he's shown emotion to me. He must've loved that boy as much as how I love my best friend. I would fall into a deep depression if he died and I would totally sacrifice myself to save him.

"Any plans on how you'll confess?"

"I'll see but definitely not on live television, that's where gossip starts." "Makes sense..."

Our final meal arrived. Killer seemed more down than usual. I wonder what's going through his mind. To comfort him, I crawled over then gave him a big hug.

Killer P.o.V

My expiration date has come. No matter what I do, I know I'll be killed. It's better if I stay behind and help Ink escape, this way I could fall asleep in peace.

We ate our supper, eating our delicious provisions and realizing the cameras were off. When the person didn't look, we snatched one of their extra exit/entrance keys and hid them in my shirt where it's impossible to see. Now, we just need to wait until downtime so I could help this boy escape and regain freedom. By the extra time I had left, I undid Ink's shock collar with a glass piece, cutting off the wires with the control panel inside.

When everything shut off, I activated the light and made my way to the door, slowly unlocking it, Ink following me, a glass in hand. If something were to happen, we had glasses that we could throw quickly. They cause a lot of damage when hit against something at high speed.

The dark corridors were similar to somebody I could call my friend, knowing when to turn and swiftly progress through the tripwire traps that were set up. All was going smoothly until I heard Flenius open the lights. I shoved my hand on Ink's mouth and went through the storage room nearby. There, we listened to what they needed to say.

"Get Ink and Killer, it's time for more experiments."

When I looked behind me, I saw tanks of gasoline, rope, knives, lighters and other objects that could be useful. My cellmate seemed to already have an idea as he dunked the inflamable fluid all over his body and across the ropes. I hope this doesn't get him killed.

I found a small canteen and gave it to him as I rubbed some to smear the smell. When they had left, we knew that the other traps were deactivated and we rushed through the rest, following the light.

We were so close to the exit when we both tripped on something that triggered a loud alarm. "Sensor system A-01 activated."

A voice said as we sprinted to the door. Guards began pouring in as Flenius walked back, trying to stop Ink with the remote that controlled his collar. My buddy threw the rope as I took the lighter and backed away, letting him near the door. I then threw the candlelighter at the contaminated cord and flames blocked everything.

"What are you doing?!"

My friend screamed, tears streaming down his cheeks. "Go! You have no time left."

"Killer... please come with me..."

I smiled then poured gasoline on myself.

"Just go Ink, I'll be fine, I promise."

"You promise you'll join me later?"

"Yes. Just run and go to the mall, you know where that is, right?" "Yeah."

He turned around. Then I saw the guards coming to grab me. "N-No! Killer!"

He sobbed.

"Go!"

"I-I'll come back for you, I promise."

I smiled weakly before the flammes blocked my view from him. He ran away.

He said, disappointed. A minute or two later, Flenius arrived at the messy place and took out that button thing.

"I knew you wouldn't leave."

"Yeah."

I turned around and faced him.

"Good thing your final test just ended."

"Mhm. Do I finally get to see Passive now?"

"Yes. Thank you Killer for being such a good experiment across those three years you've been here."

The guards tried putting out the fire in back of me as I walked towards the scientist.

"A few more questions before I take you to the execution room."

"Why didn't you go? You were so well prepared."

"I just didn't want to die another way. If I followed Ink, I would be thrown in a gun practice arena where I'd be the target."

"True, we've done that with escapees."

I took something off my neck. "What's that?"

He looked at the ruby gemstone dangling from the chain.

"If you'll cremate my body later, keep this. It's a charm from my boyfriend."

"Are we done?" "Yes, take me away."

I looked behind me as guards went outside and alerted everyone around. I know Ink loved to play tag and run. I hope he escapes successfully... and I hope that he gets to see- nevermind. I just chuckled as the doors opened to a brand new room in which the light blinded me.
