Pastel P.o.V

I was stuck carrying Ink after that whole outbreak. We were freed and Error ran off to the store to get what I asked him for. For now, we just stayed outside of the house, in the middle of the empty street and safe from the flames. It was somehow relaxing, the sound of the cracking and combustion from everything around us.

I saw from a distance that some buildings had already collapsed like the school, the hospital, the mayor's office and the stage. The community mart was completely empty and wiped out, like it never existed in the first place. My memories flowed in as I recalled all of the generous people there who didn't deserve to die.

A stench, from a pile of bodies, filled the air as I let Ink go and threw up. I saw the carcasses, some skin peeled off and looking completely cooked. Within the mess, I mourn the losses of the children. Everyone was killed and none were spared no matter how hard they tried.

Fuck the Capitol for all of this, for slaughtering everyone I knew and loved. At least I still had my boyfriend and Windows Vista, they were the only ones I had left and if I'd lose one or both... I have no idea what I'll do. We're all somehow dependent on each other.

"Pastel!"

"Oh, Error. I see you've come back with some stuff." "Yeah, I say we put it o- What's that?"

We stared upwards and saw small pellets of white slowly dancing across the sky. "Woah... snow."

"Snow?"

"Yeah... it's gorgeous. I've read all about it but never once has it actually snowed here." "Is this a good thing?"

"I've read that it represents... death and darkness. The end." "Don't think that's pretty good."

Then we put on our newly purchased coats. We both helped each other to wrap Ink in one as well. It was no easy task knowing he wasn't awake. I kept worrying for his health since he had lost lots of blood from the sudden attack.

"Hey, I'm sure he'll be okay."

Error said as I looked at his wrist again. I noticed that the wound wasn't there anymore. I never suspected Ink would end up being magic. I guess you can break out of your sterility if your feelings are strong enough? I don't know if that just made the Capitol want him more... "Don't worry, I did this the first time I discovered I had magic. I was the only one in my entire family that had learned to use strings."

He reached for the side of his cheek to take out three blue threads from it, rolled across his fingers as an example of how controlled he is with his dower.

"I needed a lot of sleep to recover from the initial shock."

"Hm..."

I put him on my shoulder as we started walking along the walls, trying to find the opening again.

"You have questions about superhuman abilities? I know all about them."

"How old were you when you discovered you were bewitched?"

"Um, now that I think of it... perhaps around five."

"How did you find out?"

"Well, I was about to fall to my death on top of a tree but I caught myself without no one noticing."

"What if they did notice?"

I passed my hand across the darkened stone, having fire marks all over it. "Well, then... I don't know."

He stared at Ink in my arms and continued the rest of his response.

"Probably death or ending up in wherever the Peacekeepers wanted to take us." "The lab?"
