Ink P.o.V
It felt more than amazing to have woken up in my bed, at home and comfortable with Cuddles sleeping on my lap. I stretched as my pet roze up and licked my face. I chuckled, told him that he'll go on a walk and that he'd see Pastel and Error soon. I then moved back the white bed sheets and changed into some checkered button up with black leggings and those gorgeous boots. The pink dress and suit haunted my closet, sitting in the very back.
I decided I wouldn't live up to my expectations. I just wanted to enjoy life and try to push away these terrible memories... the murder, the blood, the whipping, the saw... the noise. I sobbed, clutching and shaking my head as a reminder of the awful things that happened in the lab poured back into my thoughts. I wanted that to be far away, gone, reduced to nothing. My mother heard my panicking and ran upstairs.
"Inky my dear!"
She got onto her knees and hugged me, sitting onto the ground. "Please... don't do that."
"It's just... I can't stop recalling those dreadful flashes..."
"Ow my back! Don't touch me... please!"
I pushed her off, crawled to a corner of my room and weeped loudly, my animal coming to rub himself against my calfs.
"Cuddles... go wait by the door... ok?"
He lifted his ear then executed what I told him. With the corner of my eye, I saw he deescalated the staircase.
"Mom... can I get a therapist please?"
She seemed incredibly sad.
"I-I'm sorry Ink... we c-can't afford it."
Tears began rolling down her cheeks as she patted my head then stared into my merciful eyes.
"I t-think a walk will help..."
I got up and muttered as I ran off downstairs. Perhaps my friends would help me... I'm not so sure about that but I must still have hope. They'll distract me for sure, they're good at that with the conversations I've had.
"Cuddles!"
I called as I bent down at the small wooden cabinet near the entrance and pulled one of the drawers open, revealing some objects but what I looked for was the harness. I ended up seeing a brand new one... it's true that the old one was bitten all over the place when he was a small cub. My pet jumped onto my head, dandling his limbs over my eyes, trying to grab the new gift.
"Fine, fine. C'mere."
He fell off my skull as I got worried about the impact of the raccoon on the floor. Nothing seemed to bother him, he wanted his walk. I slipped on the red band and attached the leash. When I opened the door, I saw a Peacekeeper waiting for us.
"Is this the Comyet residence?" "Yes..."
I nodded, almost throwing up from the anxiety. My mother came storming at the door, angry. "Leave us alone! Look what you've done to my son!"
They ignored her, simply pushing me inside and letting themselves inside. My dad was already gone so they couldn't find him.
"It's for you."
They passed me a letter and expected me to open it so I did, tearing the fold that kept it closed.
'To the son of the Comyets,
This is Dr-'
I couldn't read the rest as I just dropped the paper down. "Read the rest... out loud Ink."
The person insisted. I could feel that ball in my non-existent throat, keeping me from saying a single word without feeling extremely nauseated.
"To t-the son of the... Comyets."
