Blue P.o.V

Our time in four ended as we departed with only three survivors, all being children aged from one to four. I cannot get over what I saw over time, decapitated bodies, bloody corpses,

hung children and teens, beheaded animals. It was all so heavy so I hope nothing like that happened in the two as well.

When we left, Cross told me that he recognized the kid as being part of Chronicle's family, the one who looked like Ink. He's still not over it, but I don't blame him. Everything looks like people we love once they're gone.

Back at the SafeHaven, nurses took care of these kids and gave them the medical attention they needed as we were about to go through our last voyage. I was excited... we could finally have a break.

"Blue!"

Of course not, there's no such thing as a break. "Finally!"

"What?"

I said, ruining the mood.

"The Mudlarks said that we can make an agreement."

"It's fake."

"They said to send Dream to do the paperwork in District 2 and they'll leave us alone!" "You sure?"

He then took a letter from his pocket and stated what it said.

"Due to our ruler, Thera's death, we promise a pact that will unify the nation and give a part of land. We will then build a wall, unclimbable and our access will be cut off from each other forever.

In exchange for peace, you must show up at District 2, near the laboratory with your leaders, Blue, Dream or Cross. If you're not here by next Monday, we will kill everyone here, including Pastel and Flenius. If you accept, you will be given back these people as well as the entire population."

So Pastel and that wrecked scientist are still alive? I could care less about Flenius but if this was for real, I could fulfill what his boyfriend asked me to do. Of course, this can easily be a trap.

"I'll discuss it with those involved."

I searched for my friends before finding Cross at the cemetery again, looking at a different tombstone this time.

"Cross?"

"S-Shut up Blue, can't you leave me alone!?"

I looked and saw the familiar face of that child. A nurse tried to console him as well but he didn't want to listen. I've never seen him this sad and it pained me. We walked out together as she told me that the being had caught a rare sickness called 'Capitol's fever' and that it was simply not strong enough to survive. I asked about the other survivors but unfortunately, they ended up passing away from the same contagious disease.

"No one else has shown symptoms for this sickness so that's good. We can't bear a sudden outbreak of this type of virus. We made sure everything was sterilized and we did a clean of the rooms the kids were kept in as well."

I felt bad but I just went to bed, I couldn't deal with anything anymore.

The next morning, I woke up with Dream shaking me, crying for once. "What happened, calm down..."

"Cross is dead!"

She yelled. I gasped and got up, covering my mouth in shock. "What happened?"

I asked, worried.

"H-He... he hung himself."

The joyful, wonderful and charismatic Cross is... gone too... guess it's really just us now. I cried, letting out all of my emotions as I told Dream to leave me alone for a second. That pact could be good so I asked an associate to plan an army to come with me, dissipated within the woods.

The rest of the day, I spent it thinking. Thinking about what I did wrong that led up to now, I'm the responsible one, I should've stayed to his side! The door opened again as a person tried to come in.

"Go away!"

It suddenly closed, shocking me a little as I noticed a little letter shoved under the door, slipped through the crack. I got up my mattress to investigate as I saw it, took it and plopped onto the pile of covers once more. The envelope said 'From Cross to Blue, Dream and Lust'. I was hesitant to open it but I ended up doing so to reveal a message scripted by himself. "You may read this after my death, after I finally decided that it was enough to keep living this life of misery. It's not that I don't wish you any luck with your mission, Ink's and that child's death have... changed me for the worse.

I'm unable to do anything without breaking down ever since the incident, I love you all so much. Thank you for being excellent people that I shared so many delightful memories with and see you on the flip side, if there even is one.

PS : I'm bringing that bitch with me too, bye Rocher."

I then threw the paper on the floor, blotted into a blob of covers and cried the rest of the day, ignoring my meals.
