Ink P.o.V

I continued puking on top of the branch and it felt as if someone was watching me. I have no food, water, weapons or allies, well I used to have one until he betrayed me. Now, I'm hurt, being pathetic on top of a branch letting the bandage absorb the blood from the remotely fresh wound. I'll have to act fast before someone finds me and gets rid of me themselves. Why did I have to get a twelve, it was such a terrible idea to even do that.

I was so thirsty, my non-existent throat ached, cracking. Even my saliva was drying up in my own mouth in an attempt to calm down the fire, only making it worse. When I stumbled off the branch, I put my bag on my shoulders and began walking in hopes of finding something. Every minute that went by was more and more painful until I collapsed on the grass, I swear I could hear footsteps behind me.

When I woke up, a few hours later, I was in the care of the two tributes from District 3. Being wrapped in covers was satisfying but the fact that these people can kill you at any moment gives off the opposite feeling.

"He's awake!"

When I glared around me, I noticed I was in a completely different area. It was more of a swampy setting with mud roaming around and blooming flowers on thick leaves. I've never seen something like this before, it's like that one story from my childhood. Anyways, I looked around to see the people who saved me. One of them was a tall female, she had a very muscular build, her skin was scally and behind her was a short tail. Overall, she had a forest, lime type of colour spread across her body.

"Are you okay? Ink's your name... right?" "Huh... who are you?"

I asked, playing dumb.

"I'm Claudia and my teammate is Flavius."

A more wimpy type of boy came along, he had pale skin, curly hair and amber eyes. "Nice eyes!"

That's all he could say before they stared into my shifting eyes. Most probably going from exclamation marks to interrogation points.

"T-Thanks."

My voice began to crack from the desert that was in my mouth. "I think he's thirsty..."

The girl said.

"And he seems hurt."

"We could help you but for a price of course!"

I mean, they saved my life so I'm grateful.

"Give us your canteen, first aid kit and we'll give you a small container, rope and a blade."

One of them explains as the other adds on. "We did save your life."

"Yeah... take what you want. Thank you again."

I began unexplainably sobbing, cupping my head into my hands. I suppose they couldn't help but feel bad.

"You don't need to stay here if you feel like you're in danger. Worst case, take our blanket."

I clutched the blanket, wiping my tears onto it. I then got up, took the gifts then stuck them into my bag. I put it on my shoulder and realized it was almost night time.

"You aren't going to stay with us for supper?"

"No thank you. I would like to try and find my companion."

"Good luck!"

They both exclaimed in unison before I threnched through the forest once more. It was already dark, even though the sun hadn't set yet but the gloominess contaminated it all. I don't know what type of predators roamed the duskiness during night time and I didn't want
