Chapter 6: Weekend Visit
Charlie was on her bed reading the book, 'Hogwarts: A History', and was at the chapter where three of the four founders were in agreement to accept all wizards from Magical families, mixed-blood, or non-magic families. "So Salazar Slytherin thought that students in the school should only be from pureblood wizarding families? Sounds like a prejudiced jerk that should be around here now," Charlie remarked. "I bet he's some sort of snake given everything about him," she remarked as she looked at Owlphonse. The barn owl only hooted before nuzzling against Charlie's cheek, making her smile before she turned to look at a drawing of herself on the wall that Harry made for her when he was 5.
'Kinda gets lonely without Harry around,' she thought to herself. Her thoughts were further interrupted as she heard the cries of another owl. She placed the book on her bed and opened a window to see Harry's snowy owl flying towards the manor. "Hedwig," Charlie called out to the bird as she flew towards the Princess of Hell. The white owl landed on Charlie's bed as she approached her and scratched the bird's head and noticed the letter she was carrying. She took the letter from the owl and began to read it. A smile started to form on her face as she decided to spread the news to her family.
Lucifer was in the study as he was having some swordplay with an acquaintance of his. The tubby pig demon was average in height with a pinstriped suit and black eyes with a pencil-thin mustache while a pair of tusks stuck out from his face. "En garde, old friend," he exclaimed with a manic enthusiasm as he skillfully swung his fencing saber.
"Haha! Nothing's changed in your style, Astin," Lucifer said with a grin as the two tried to disarm the other.
"I heard your son went to a boarding school in the living world. How are his classes," Astin asked as he parried a strike from the king as Lucifer countered with a few.
"Word is spreading fast. Are the others talking about him," Lucifer asked as they were battling it out on top of his desk.
"Some. But I'm wondering how he is because I've been one of his tutors for some years now," the pig demon stated.
Before Lucifer could reply, Charlie threw the doors open with a giant grin on her face. "DAD! Harry said he made it onto the Quidditch team for Gryffindor!"
The sudden arrival of his daughter startled Lucifer and Astin thrust his blade into the king's shoulder to end the match. "That's my point, Luci," the pig chuckled. "Now, what's this about a school team?"
"It's some sort of magical sport," Charlie stated as her father stood up, unbothered by the bleeding hole in his arm.
"Did he now? Well, I knew those mortals would see his talents," Lucifer laughed as his shoulder was healing up quickly. "What sport did you say he was in again?"
"Quidditch, Dad. I think it's like the wizard version of soccer," Charlie said.
"You mean futbol," Astin said as he corrected the term.
"No, I mean soccer. I don't think they play Football in Europe," Charlie argued.
"They don't. Astin means that soccer in some countries in the mortal realm is called 'football', Charlie," Lucifer said. "What's his position on the team?"
"According to the letter, he says that he's the Seeker," Charlie said, still confused by the meaning as she didn't have enough knowledge of the magical sport.
Lucifer thought about that title for a bit and decided on something. "Perhaps you can visit him during his weekend and learn for yourself," Lucifer suggested. "I'm sure Dumbledore wouldn't mind a visit from you if you don't disturb everyone too much."
